Everyone thinks that in the new emperor's hands, she is sure to be tortured to death. A sycophantic subordinate suggests, "How about skinning her and making a doormat for Your Majesty?" Xie Guan lazily lifts his eyelids and glances over with a smile. "You want to skin the empress?" To Xie Guan, Shen Lingyu was once the moonlight in his heart, and is now a cinnabar mark etched in blood. No one knows that he once stood in the shadows, madly and obsessively in love with her.
