[My next historical romance, The Palace Says No, is currently updating. Please add it to your library!]
A scandal over a "concubine's misdiagnosis" forces Ming Wan to volunteer to marry the heir of the Marquis of Xuanping to save her father, the head imperial physician:
Wen Zhi, an eighteen-year-old gloomy young man who lost his family on the battlefield and broke his leg.
He's sensitive and fragile, gloomy and distant. Every word he speaks cuts like a knife, and he won't stop until he and everyone around him are covered in wounds. He's like a wretched stone that will never grow warm, no matter how long you hold it.
Even the most patient person will reach their limit one day. Ming Wan thought, "Let him do what he wants. I'm done trying to warm up this wretched stone!"
She decided to leave and set them both free.
But then a crash sounded behind her. The wooden chair tipped over, and Wen Zhi fell to the ground in a humiliating heap. His legs couldn't move, but one hand reached desperately forward, as if trying to grab something. He snarled, "If you dare leave, I'll catch you one day, and make sure you never know peace again!"
Ming Wan turned to look at his bloodshot eyes. After a long pause, she said softly, "If you want to catch me, first get your legs better. Then walk up to me yourself, one step at a time."
Five years later, Ming Wan stood in the rain holding a "child's" hand. She watched the youngest chief minister in the dynasty walk steadily and slowly toward her, holding an umbrella...
Ming Wan closed her eyes with a trembling sigh.
She knew her good days might be over.
A few things to know before reading:
1. For certain reasons, the male lead has a terrible temper in the early chapters. He's obsessive and has issues.
2. The male lead will regret it, come crawling back, and face a painful redemption arc. The heroine holds grudges and can be difficult. No female rivals.
3. 1v1, both leads have no past relationships. Alternate history with a chaotic setting. Don't nitpick the historical details.
4. Keep the discussion civil. If it's not for you, just close the page. No need to hurt each other.

Upcoming novel: The Palace Says No
Blurb One:
Every princess in the Ji family is a force to be reckoned with.
The eldest princess never married. She served as regent under an imperial edict and wielded great influence over the court. The second princess married into a foreign clan to secure peace, then brought down their enemy kingdom within a few years and retired in triumph, spending her days in comfort with the male companions she had brought back from the enemy kingdom...
Only the youngest, Third Princess Ji Tao, was born delicate and spoiled, nothing like her formidable older sisters.
As Ji Tao turned sixteen, she had a face capable of bringing a kingdom to ruin, but had never even held a man's hand. Her two sisters discussed it and decided to give her a male companion to help her get over her shyness.
The Third Princess was picky. She wasn't interested in any of the handsome men they showed her, shaking her head at every one.
Her second sister asked what kind of man she liked, saying even a god would be dragged down to her if that's what she wanted!
Ji Tao blinked her big, dewy eyes and remembered the strange dream she'd had the night before. In a soft voice, she said, "Maybe... someone like General Qi?"
Before long, her second sister really did spring General Qi from the death row and bundle him off to Ji Tao's bed.
Blurb Two:
Qi Yan came from a family of high officials. He made a name for himself at a young age and won countless military honors, but became collateral damage when Prince Langya was accused of treason and was thrown into prison.
In his desperate circumstances, someone gave him to the Third Princess as a male companion.
Qi Yan was full of humiliation and resentment. To protect the greater cause, he had no choice but to endure it.
Fortunately, the Third Princess was a delicate little beauty who looked easy to control. Qi Yan decided to go along with it and make good use of her...
The candlelight was dim, and red gauze draped the bed. Their loosened clothes lay scattered on the floor.
The delicate Third Princess lay curled up on the bed, her big, dewy eyes staring at the handsome, muscular man as he approached. Her little face flushed with anxiety. "General, please calm down! You can't, you can't..."
Qi Yan: What should I do? Now I want to tease her even more.
(The male lead is ambitious and possessive, constantly teetering on the edge of turning cruel.)
Theme: Even in your lowest moments, keep a light in your heart and join hands to embrace life
What should I do? I actually like Li Xu. It's so embarrassing.
It's so tiring to read a novel and be morally criticized by others! I just like Li Xu!
Sometimes I feel that the emotions of the protagonists are very contradictory, but if you think about it carefully, human emotions are inherently contradictory.
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, please just take out Li Xu and Xiao Jiang, rebirth.
I've finished reading it. It's great. It makes up for the regrets of the eldest prince and Xiao Jiang.
Why do you think the extras are better? It's more interesting to use the extras as the main text!
I've finished reading them all, it's really good to watch, whether in this life or the next. The male protagonist is the first time since I have read so many novels that I sympathized with his life experiences and cried for him. Sometimes I think that it would be nice if they in the parallel world were part of the main drama. Wen Zhi wouldn't have to be so painful. The young man in red with bright clothes and angry horse is no longer just a few brushstrokes in the past. I really want to watch their relaxed daily life. Xiao Jiang in the main drama was so miserable that I felt heartbroken after watching her ending. Fortunately, in the end, the author greatly allowed the lonely Li Xu and Xiao Jiang to be together.
A big guy who didn't think of a book title well, so I tried to persuade him to marry a villain. It was useless. It was just so random, such a scrawled title, and such a beautiful book.
