When the Wild Goose Returns

·

Qing Yan takes the place of a runaway princess and is sent to the Yi Kingdom for a political marriage.

People in the Yi Kingdom say their new princess is bright-eyed and spirited, the most beautiful woman in the land. Her captivating eyes beguile everyone without her even realizing it. She is promised to Prince Zhan, once a ruthless killer who could slaughter without blinking. Even after becoming a monk, his peerless looks still make countless beauties swoon.

Then the real princess appears, and the entire capital is shocked to learn that the princess they once envied was an impostor. They angrily hope Qing Yan will be thrown out, and even her former lover, now a eunuch, sarcastically invites her to become his companion...

On the day she sneaks away, Qing Yan packs a whole bundle of lotus wine pastries. Thinking about leaving behind all the delicious food in the prince's residence, she sobs miserably.

He thinks she can't bear to leave him, and, pleased, pats her head. Fingering his Buddhist prayer beads, he kisses her eyes, tender and loving.

She tries to explain, but he stuffs her mouth with a lotus wine pastry.

No one knows that he has long since kept her in his heart, where she has become part of his very bones and blood. For the rest of their lives, this terrifying man will wield his blade to protect her and roll up his sleeves to cook for her, turning every flavor in the world sweet.
