How to Win Over a Sickly Host

[A sweet little story to break things up, trying out a new character setup]

System 006 was known throughout the entire Main God realm as the luckiest of them all.

A naive, inexperienced sweetheart, it got Lin Jinghong as its very first Host and coasted all the way to the end.

Facing the jealous, envious looks of its colleagues, 006 had no way to explain:

Because Lin Jinghong was a complete lunatic! Who could have seen that coming?

Cold-blooded and heartless, cruel and selfish. Lin Jinghong never followed the plot when conquering a world. He killed all the protagonists instead, making himself the protagonist.

And Lin Jinghong wasn't even nice to him! In the very first world, Lin Jinghong found him annoying and spent all his starting points on a soundproofing device, just so he wouldn't have to listen to him talk!

006: TAT

After the cycle ended,

the Main God suddenly announced that Lin Jinghong's methods of clearing worlds had been so bloody that they had provoked countless vengeful spirits. He couldn't be allowed to leave so easily, so they were adding The Final Book for them.

In The Final Book, Lin Jinghong would lose all control and memories. The top-ranked, elite conqueror would become the one being conquered.

And 006, as an "accomplice," would be punished too. Its final mission was to conquer Lin Jinghong.

006: ... Just kill me.

*

006 entered The Final Book, utterly despondent, but when he opened his eyes, he was startled to find himself in the world he'd lived in before he died.

He opened the door. His mother stood outside, smiling as she called him by his childhood nickname, Xiao Chi.

Yan Chi was stunned for a long time before he understood.

It turned out Lin Jinghong had chosen his world for retirement.

*

Sixteen-year-old Yan Chi came from a good family, was handsome and talented, and was the most doted-on youngest son of a ducal family.

His terminal illness was cured overnight. Returning from a remote star sector to the capital planet, he enrolled at Imperial University and immediately spotted his former Host, who had once done whatever he pleased but was now a bullied boy from the slums.

Remembering how openly Lin Jinghong had despised him when they first met,

Yan Chi was too timid to do anything but watch from the shadows.

Until Lin Jinghong was locked in a bathroom and had one of his legs broken.

Yan Chi skipped class and rushed over, eyes red and lips bitten as he tried to help Lin Jinghong up, only to have his wrist seized in midair.

Lin Jinghong stared coldly at him, grabbed his hand, and pulled him close. His breath brushed Yan Chi's ear, and his lazy, amused voice could barely conceal his anger.

"006, is this how you're trying to conquer me?"
