This was Lierd's wife: fair-skinned, raven-haired, beautiful, innocent, and pitiful. His amnesia left him feeling insecure, and his deafness made him cling desperately to his husband. He followed Lierd everywhere all day and was always asking him for kisses. Whenever Lierd held him close and looked into those innocent black eyes, listening to him sniffle as he recounted his tragic childhood, Lierd would find himself in a daze.

He cared for him, with all his heart.

Could the Federation have made a mistake? Maybe his wife had simply fallen in with the wrong crowd and gone astray. How could someone so fragile and pitiful be a bad person?

An S-rank inmate escaped. The Cathedral of the Holy Cauldron was destroyed in a bombing, and priceless jewels were stolen from the royal wedding.

Lierd spotted his beautiful wife at the crime scene. He was still as innocent and guileless as ever. When he raised his gun and shot Lierd in the left arm, his eyes filled with such bewilderment they seemed ready to spill over. "I'm sorry, hubby. Why did you have to chase after me? I don't want to hurt you. Does it hurt?"

Lierd gritted his teeth and bore the pain. "Xinlian, come home with me. I'll protect you."

The gun lifted, aimed at his forehead.

His beautiful wife turned cold and heartless. "You won't take the easy way, so you'll take the hard way. I told you to get lost. Can't you understand, idiot?"

The sixth rule of the mission brief: Prioritize fulfilling all your wife's requests.

Lierd let Feng Chester go.
