My Wife's Head Is Worth Ten Thousand Gold

Open a wonton stall, marry a gentle wife, and have a sweet four-year-old daughter.

Mo Qilang thought his life was complete.

Until one day, the troubles of his past came knocking. He snapped the bamboo pole in the kitchen and revealed the treasured blade he had kept hidden for years.

“My dear, to be honest, your husband is worth three thousand taels of gold.”

Late at night, Mo Qilang wrote his wife a letter by the light of the stove, crying as he wrote.

It wasn't that he was afraid to die. He just couldn't bear to leave his wife and child.

Sigh. Tomorrow, no one would wash the dishes, chop firewood, boil water, or sweep the courtyard. His wife would surely be angry.

A blade cleaves the moon and parts the wind; on a bitter, cold night, the flute echoes through the cave.

In a place called the “jianghu,” Mo Qixuan, the Moon-Cleaving Blade, was known as the “Third Greatest Assassin Under Heaven” and ranked seventh on the jianghu wanted list.

To leave the jianghu behind for good, he had to kill someone with a higher bounty than his own.

One night, she woke to find that her husband had run away. After cooking a bowl of wontons and feeding the chickens, Shen Xiuxiu washed her hands and fished a token out of the pickle jar.

“Send word to the Nine Sects and Thirteen Gangs. Bring the Moon-Cleaving Blade to me.”

“Yes!”

There is an escort agency in the jianghu that can keep you alive, as long as you are willing to pay.

Shen Futuo, the agency's chief, can protect people from swords and blades amid a vast army with nothing but her bare hands.

The Barehanded Tathagata, a savior to all.

Number one on the wanted list, with a bounty of ten thousand gold.

Male lead Mo Qilang (Mo Qixuan, the Moon-Cleaving Blade): a practical, cost-conscious assassin, a devoted husband and a good family man.

Female lead Shen Xiuxiu (Shen Futuo, the Barehanded Tathagata): a retired powerhouse who doesn't want to do the accounts or wash dishes, and just wants to wrap little wontons.

A sweet, lighthearted story of love after marriage, just like a bowl of shrimp wontons that's not too hot to eat.
