Fate Judgment

There is a osmanthus tree in front of Two Taels General Store, on Willow Lane in Feiyang District, Hudou City.

The ancient copper bell hanging from the tree seems never to have rung.

A little kitten sits at the door, meowing over and over.

The shopkeeper, Ruan Ajiu, who looks as if she hasn't had a filling meal in ten days, comes back from the end of the lane wearing slippers and an old man's undershirt, holding a huge black umbrella.

In her other hand, she carries a bag of steaming hot soup dumplings.

The plastic bag they came in bears four characters: Afterlife Diner.

The instant she closes the shop door, a cool breeze brushes past Qin Wei. She catches a glimpse of a faint pool of blood in front of the door, a dragon crouched on the roof, and the golden eyes hidden behind Ruan Ajiu's glasses.

And so the story begins.

An old, yellowed book says that in ancient times there were 108 guardian cities. Each city had a gate that opened onto the path between yin and yang.

Any ghost, monster, demon, or evil spirit that did wrong would be forced to kneel and die before the gate.

Theme: A person's heart weighs ten taels, with good and evil divided between them. Ten good deeds forge a golden body; ten evil deeds will bring me to you.
