Unorthodox Palace Intrigue

"Our Shen family rose from street peddlers to become the Empress Dowager's family through just four words: give people what they want. Whatever those above us desire, that's what we provide."

Shen Fuyi remembered her father's words.

She was the Dowager Consort's darling.

She was the Empress Dowager's little cook.

She was the confidante of every consort in the imperial harem.

If she wanted to keep eating meat in the palace, she had to give the Emperor everything he wanted, too.

Even if the Emperor liked... that sort of thing, she could... do that, too!

"I am the Emperor. Only I may command all under heaven. Who would dare place restrictions on me?"

As Emperor, Li Ge liked proper people.

Proper ministers observed the rules of propriety.

Proper consorts upheld virtue.

After drinking a bowl of sweet osmanthus porridge, he decided that the young girl from the Dowager Consort's family was also obedient and considerate.

So he used underhanded means to ruin her marriage and bring her into the palace to serve as a female official.

The young girl became more and more obedient and proper.

Li Ge grew more and more pleased.

Until one day...

The young girl tied him up and tossed him onto the imperial bed.
