The main story is complete. Thank you for supporting the official release. Bowing to all my dear readers.
The related story, "The Qing Dynasty and the Little Nian Beast," is about Consort Ding and the Twelfth Prince!
A little Pixiu accidentally transmigrates into the body of a lowly palace maid during the Kangxi era.
And so begins her fortune-making journey in the human world.
The higher a palace maid's rank, the more money she earns? OK, I'll study my way into a position beside the emperor.
So a lifetime's salary is still less than one casual reward from Kangxi? OK, I'll sweet-talk Kangxi and win his favor right away.
Her good friend Wuya asks her to join her in becoming one of the emperor's consorts.
"What's so great about being a consort?"
"You can make money. Lots and lots of money."
"OK, let's do it right now!"
Later, the little Pixiu becomes Consort Ding to Emperor Kangxi, the longest-lived woman in the harem and its wealthiest consort.
On her ninetieth birthday, her grandson Qianlong asks her for the secret to a long life.
Consort Ding smiles faintly and holds up four fingers. "Focus on making money."
A little scene:
Others compete for the emperor's favor for their family's glory or for Kangxi's love.
Consort Ding has a different approach: "Wow, Your Majesty, that jade Guanyin, the 'A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains' painting, the pure-gold Buddhas, and the golden nanmu are worth a fortune, aren't they?"
Kangxi's face darkens. "You can have everything else, but the last one is what I plan to be buried with. Could you please stop hauling it into your storeroom?"
The female lead is a Pixiu reincarnated. Anyone who gets along with her will have good fortune.
Consort De is her best friend. Consort De takes on the palace-intrigue quests, while the little Pixiu wins without lifting a finger.
Upcoming story: "The Qing Dynasty and the Little Nian Beast"
This story is connected to the one about Consort Ding.
A ferociously adorable little Nian Beast transmigrates into the Twelfth Prince Yintao.
In the Forbidden City, where currents run deep and people openly and secretly scheme against one another,
he stands out as particularly innocent and genuine.
A Nian Beast's job is to cause trouble!
So he starts by burning off Kangxi's whiskers.
Kangxi: "I was just thinking of trying to look a little younger."
He secretly sticks out a foot and trips the Crown Prince.
But it happens to help the Crown Prince avoid a danger falling from the sky.
The Crown Prince: "Twelfth Brother is my little lucky charm."
He sets fire to Yinzhen's favorite paintings and calligraphy.
As it happens, Kangxi hates those pieces.
Yinzhen: "Boohoo, Twelfth Brother loves me so much."
The little Nian Beast, who wanted to wreak havoc in the human world,
looks fierce and adorable, but Kangxi soothes him with a bowl of milk cheese.
He has no choice but to take his Pixiu mother's hand
and set out on the path to becoming everyone's favorite.
A Nian Beast with healing powers, pretending to be fierce. Just being around him makes your back stop aching, your legs stop hurting, and even gives you more energy to read memorials!
A slice-of-life story, with some succession struggles.
Consort Ding's characterization is based on the completed story "Consort Ding Is a Pixiu." The other characters have been adjusted a little.
