An Ordinary Person Surrounded by the Black Side

At first, Ii Hajime really just wanted to be an ordinary person.

But as an ordinary underage Hope's Peak Academy high school student, some things were never going to go as he wished.

After several vending machines in a row malfunctioned while he was buying something, Ii Hajime received praise for his talent from Classmate No. 1, who used the name Suijingfang, a liquor brand, as his real name.

Looking at Suijingfang's black suit and the gun brazenly hanging from his waist, still stained with blood, Ii Hajime thought: ...

Thanks, but no thanks. You can keep pretending you're a high-ranking member of the Black Organization. I didn't see a thing.

Over the weekend, Ii Hajime is at home watching the news when he goes out to eat with his classmates. "Recently... near... a vicious assault... rushed to the hospital." The report includes a surveillance image of the attacker.

Ii Hajime happens to turn back and see the picture, then turns around again. Classmate No. 2, an innocent-smiling girl who looks just like the Demon Fyodor.

Classmate No. 3, a golden-haired, super-friendly little boy and gourmet, gets kidnapped. By the time Ii Hajime arrives, the kidnappers have left behind nothing but scraps of bones that have been eaten clean. Ii Hajime, who witnessed it all from the surveillance room: .

Ahhh, I won't tell anyone that your guardian is a man-eating demon, Classmate!

Shaken, Ii Hajime decides to find Classmate No. 4, the upright lie detector and future public security officer in his class, to calm down. He suddenly realizes that this classmate is watching Classmate No. 5, a certain neurosurgeon, being used in human experiments.

Ii Hajime: Sorry to bother you.

With his nerves thoroughly frayed, Ii Hajime decides to spend some time with his approachable class president. By chance, he sees the president's older brother, Classmate No. 6, surrounded by a large group of people dressed like some kind of gang, calling him their leader.

This world is beyond saving, he thinks.

...So when he meets Classmate No. 1, Suijingfang, Ii Hajime thinks nothing Suijingfang says could surprise him. He casually accepts Suijingfang's request, resigned to a world he no longer understands.

Wait, what did he accept? A confession???
