The Wasteland's First Healing-Type Contaminant

The apocalypse arrived, and pollutants spread across the world.

Gu Zhi had been asleep for a long time when an explosion forcibly woke him.

He stared blankly at the ashen sky and the huge crowd of two-legged beasts surrounding him, then blinked.

Where was his home?

His benevolent gaze fixed on the man leading the group, and Gu Zhi clenched his fists.

Before long, Gu Zhi had a new home of his own!

There was a soft bed, a comfy blanket, and fragrant humans!

He wasn't sure whether the thing Mr. Ling called a pollution level was rare...

Before anyone noticed, he could just take another little sip. Just one tiny sip...! Hehe~

Pollution can help humans evolve, but once its level exceeds 100, it turns Esper users into apocalyptic pollutants.

As luck would have it, Ling Shang's pollution level had never dropped below the high-risk threshold.

But from one day on, everyone at the Esper Bureau knew that the lone wolf Captain Ling had a little kid following him around.

They also knew that after moving into an SS-level contamination zone, Captain Ling had, for the first time ever, applied to headquarters for a house in the safe zone.

Ling Shang realized that the little kid he'd brought home was a bit odd.

Instead of thinking about how to protect himself, he was always looking for cuddles, pats, and hugs.

More importantly, Ling Shang's condition was becoming increasingly unstable.

"Mr. Ling, I want a hug today!"

"I told you not to just... Mm."

After soothing the little one to sleep with a series of soft whimpers, Ling Shang skillfully took out his testing instrument and stared pensively at the pollution level: 1.

The little guy could soothe his mental agitation.

But... how was he supposed to deal with the physical agitation he caused?

Many days later, after six SSS-level pollutants went berserk and were completely eliminated, Ling Shang's pollution level began to soar.

When it reached 99, everyone stood ready to eliminate the threat, but somehow a little kid slipped into the encirclement.

Gu Zhi tugged at Ling Shang's sleeve, his sparkling eyes meeting those violent ones.

"It's all taken care of. Can you come home with me now? QvQ"
