The Shadow Guard I Broke Off My Engagement With Became Emperor

[I started this two years ago when I got sick, but my long hospital stay delayed it for two years. I will finish it, so feel free to add it to your favorites for now.]

When Pei Chutang was seventeen, he entered the palace to be considered as a husband for the princess, who bullied him into falling into the water.

The emperor bestowed a shadow guard upon him for protection.

After that, a young nobleman fell in love with the shadow guard bestowed upon him by the emperor.

But on the day his family was confiscated and he was sent into exile, he sold himself to the marquis's manor for fifty taels of gold.

--

A year after his exile, Pei Chutang was brought into the palace.

The palace servants washed him and changed his clothes, then carried him to the emperor's bedchamber. He kept his eyes tightly shut.

But then a familiar voice sounded beside him.

"A-Tang."

The shadow guard he had abandoned had become emperor.

--

He died, on a snowy night spent tormenting the new emperor and being tormented in turn.

Time rewound, and he was reborn before his family's confiscation.

This time, he decided to risk everything.
