A young dragon-serpent fails its tribulation and is rescued by the clam clan. To repay them, he takes the place of their little princess and goes as a bride to the Dragon Clan.
He knows the Dragon Clan wants a magical treasure from the clams, and that the Crown Prince will surely dislike him for being a stand-in bride.
What should he do? He's really going to end up hated by everyone...
Under enormous pressure, the young dragon-serpent is carried into the Dragon Clan in a dragon palanquin. He takes part in the wedding rites, seals the marriage contract, and is then sent to a lavishly decorated bridal chamber.
Dressed in a bright red wedding robe and disguised as a member of the clam clan, the young dragon-serpent sits stiffly on the bed, trembling.
Reeking of alcohol, the Crown Prince pushes open the door. Seeing the person tremble like a leaf, he says nothing. The bride is so afraid of him that he can't even touch them?
The night passes. The veil is not lifted, the wedding wine is not drunk, and naturally, the marriage is not consummated.
The young dragon-serpent follows closely behind the Crown Prince, pretending to be the little princess of the clam clan. He is relieved that the Crown Prince hasn't seen through his disguise and doesn't like him.
If he can keep up this act, perhaps one day the Crown Prince will grow tired of him and let him go.
But the naive young dragon-serpent is too innocent. The Dragon Prince may not like him, but he needs him.
One time, after drinking too much, the Crown Prince gives in to desire.
Only halfway through does he realize that the wife in his arms is a man. He hates being deceived, and seeing his little bride's flushed cheeks and tearful, lowered eyes leaves him agitated and irritated.
The young dragon-serpent begs him to let him go, crying and apologizing, saying he never meant to impersonate the clam princess and deceive him.
The more he begs, the more the Crown Prince's anger burns.
After a night of stormy passion, the young dragon-serpent cries until his voice is hoarse. It takes several days for him to recover.
Once his identity is exposed, the Crown Prince rejects him completely.
But something is wrong. His belly grows bigger by the day.
Sniffling, the young dragon-serpent rubs his belly, changes into loose clothes, and goes to find the Crown Prince.
He sees the Crown Prince looking at a portrait of someone else. That face bears a slight resemblance to his own.
So was the Crown Prince's drunken loss of control that night only because he resembled the person in the portrait?
Heartbroken, the young dragon-serpent leaves the Dragon Clan alone in the dead of night.
The Crown Prince chases him out of the Dragon Palace, still holding a letter of repudiation.
He doesn't understand. How could his once-obedient little wife divorce him unilaterally?
1. HE, pursuing his wife, melodrama, married first and fell in love later.
2. The young dragon-serpent who divorces his husband x the Crown Prince who gets divorced.
