My name is Mia. I'm pretty, have MAX social skills, awesome superpowers, and I even talk to dolls. I'm currently playing the Gotham Life Simulator.
There are four people (?) in my genetic lineage, which means two pairs of parents. Probably.
Four people in a relationship? Is that how open-minded you Americans are?
But what does that have to do with me, Mia?
As a plot-skipper, all I want is to laze around.
On the surface, I'm an orphan with a house and a cat.
My cat's name is Snowball. He loves being petted, held, and kissed. His cat manners are impeccable.
Drake next door is so jealous he could cry, but Snowball only hisses and swipes at him.
While my classmates all agree that they want to be heroes or villains, with everyone aiming for the same career, I fall into deep thought.
I have a happy life, no tragic past, no emotional trauma, no grand ambitions, and no obsession with finding a nemesis.
Conclusion: I'm not qualified to be a superhero or supervillain.
I happily crossed both off the list.
I told my teacher I just wanted to be a happy, silly little rich girl.
I love the pretty graphics when I do life-sim game tasks, and those relaxing, laid-back minigames.
...I never imagined those minigames could affect reality.
Without my knowing, Gotham had gained another urban legend.
I have a boyfriend who's handsome and poor. I never expected him to be a rich second-generation heir pretending to be poor.
One day, my boyfriend's dad, a Gotham big shot, came to see me. I thought he wanted to throw a ten-million-dollar check at me and make me leave his son, but instead, he asked me out.
"Uncle, I don't like men who are too old," I politely declined.
The big shot's expression went blank. I guess he's never been rejected before.
Sure, he's handsome and rich, but I don't want to become my boyfriend's stepmom. My boyfriend would cry in my arms, and I'd have to comfort him.
This world is a game, sure, but does that mean I can't fall in love with my fictional boyfriend?
No!
A strange guy dressed as a clown knocked on my door. Before I could give him an ugly rejection, my tenant's plants tossed him right out.
A fellow hair-dye enthusiast told me he was her scumbag ex, who still had someone else in his heart but flirted around anyway.
I joined the pretty young woman in cursing out the scumbag.
A domineering CEO from a neighboring city came to claim me as family. Looking at his gleaming bald head, I touched my freshly dyed hair and grew worried.
A flying man in a red cape pushed the bald guy aside and nervously almost fell over as he said he had to tell me the truth.
"Do you know your true origins?"
I tilted my head. "Um, a runaway Disney princess?"
After Jason came back to life, he developed a couple of little problems: uncontrollable crying and a specific-target skin hunger, with Mia as the designated target for the latter.
Since these would undermine the aura of Gotham's new big shot, and he couldn't embarrass himself in front of the old Bat and the little birds, he put on his beloved helmet.
A cold, tough guy can't act cute!
The cool Jason selectively forgot his life as a clingy cat who begged to be petted and held.
The Bat family noticed Jason had been acting extremely strangely lately. After investigating, they were shocked to discover that...
The most rebellious kid in the family was clinging to another kid and acting cute.
Pairing: Jason (Snowball). A silly, sweet story.
At first, his cat manners are excellent (by force). Later, his boyfriend manners are perfect.
Mia is a chaotic neutral troublemaker with a confused understanding of reality. She insists the world is a game, but that doesn't stop her from loving her fictional boyfriend.
