[Dark, Brooding, Blackened Devotee Top x Cool, Stunning God Bottom]
Xie Changying once fought wars for his beloved, giving him everything he had.
But his beloved literally tore his heart out. He stabbed him clean through and even threw in the extermination of his entire clan as a bonus.
At the time, Xie Changying swore that in a thousand years or ten thousand, he would return to the mortal realm and kill his beloved with his own hands.
When he was reborn, however, he got bound to something calling itself a Wish Fulfillment System.
The System claimed it would help him achieve his wish... and then tried to teach him how to win his beloved over.
Xie Changying gave a cold laugh and stabbed his beloved clean through amid the System's screams.
His beloved died, time reversed, and Xie Changying returned to the beginning of his rebirth.
The System coaxed him patiently: This happens when you don't fulfill your wish.
Xie Changying: Oh.
Then he stabbed his beloved clean through again and threw in the extermination of his entire clan as a bonus.
Just as the System had said, he couldn't stop being reborn.
Xie Changying started being reborn over and over. His first move in each new life was to kill his beloved.
Until the 98th rebirth...
Xie Changying raised his blade. The System let out a piercing shriek.
Just as exhausted, Xie Changying decided to try something different.
He cornered his beloved against a wall,
but before he could even touch him, the man blew himself up, destroying his soul completely.
The 99th rebirth...
System: ...
Xie Changying: ...
Xie Changying rubbed his face. How about I win him over first, then kill him? :)
This time, Xie Changying didn't kill his beloved first. Instead, he stayed by his side.
Then, little by little, he began to notice some interesting things.
Coming soon: The Grifter Dodging the Kill Line Hooks a Couch Potato
Laid-back couch potato | rich young master from Beijing's elite circle top x All-American sweetheart | grifter bottom who becomes a seductive gold digger to dodge the kill line
When a down-on-his-luck sweetheart trying to dodge the "kill line" decides to hunt a couch potato from the East.
Jiang Lin is a famous couch potato among Beijing's elite. His life motto is, "Working hard doesn't guarantee success, but not working hard is definitely relaxing."
After his family sent him to America with a letter cutting off his allowance "so he could experience real life," he took his lie-flat philosophy to heart:
He picked the easiest classes, aimed for just-passing grades, and, in his brother's words, "lay around wasting his life in a penthouse on the Upper East Side like a Buddha statue."
Until he found out his family had canceled his secondary card, too.
At the time, he was sprawled on his apartment sofa, wondering whether to order General Tso's chicken or orange chicken for dinner.
Jiang Lin: "...What the hell?"
I came here to experience life, not to experience being broke!
*
Eli Lancefield is blond and blue-eyed, has a 4.0 GPA and a transcript full of honors, and is a professor's darling. His parents are Wall Street elites, and his All-American sweetheart smile is always perfect.
But no one knows his family declared bankruptcy last month, leaving them completely out of cash.
The exorbitant tuition, the Manhattan apartment rent, and every expense needed to maintain the appearance of being an "elite"...
To avoid falling below the "kill line," he grits his teeth and keeps up appearances, while privately looking for a stable source of income in a hurry. Ideally, someone stupid, rich, and undemanding.
After carefully narrowing down his options, he sets his sights on the new rich kid from the East.
He keeps to himself, dresses expensively, and is a typical international student from the East who'll return home after graduation. Most importantly, the couch potato's eyes had lit up with admiration when he first saw Eli.
The perfect prey.
*
Eli carefully plans countless "chance encounters."
The seat beside Jiang Lin in the library, sharing a table at a coffee shop, even taking the same easy elective.
He smiles like California sunshine, takes care of the whole group project, shares his notes, and greets Jiang Lin in clumsy Chinese.
Jiang Lin always gives a mild nod, accepts whatever Eli offers, thanks him, and then goes right back to daydreaming.
Eli starts to question his life: Is this guy made of stone?
Until one rainy night, Eli stands drenched outside Jiang Lin's apartment, water dripping from his hair. His baby-blue eyes are dewy, like a little dog caught in the rain. His plan is to claim he forgot his keys and ask to stay the night.
Jiang Lin opens the door and looks at him for three seconds.
Then he turns around at an unhurried pace, gets a towel, and drapes it over Eli's head.
"Trying to hustle money out of me," Jiang Lin says in a flat voice, making Eli freeze. "Don't they teach you All-American sweethearts how to spot a real slacker?"
*
Jiang Lin had noticed a long time ago.
He noticed Eli calculating the price of every item he wore. He noticed Eli was far friendlier with his rich-kid friends than with Jiang Lin himself. He noticed that beneath the All-American sweetheart's brilliant smile lay anxiety and exhaustion that were about to overwhelm him.
Jiang Lin couldn't be bothered to call him out. He even found it amusing.
Watching a pretty guy work so hard to put on an act was more interesting than a textbook.
He waited to see when Eli would reveal his true intentions: Was he after money or feelings?
He never expected Eli to choose to "con" him into giving him himself.
When the blond sweetheart cornered him in an empty hallway in the classroom building, tugged at the hem of his shirt, and asked in halting Chinese, "Teach me... how to stop caring like you," Jiang Lin felt for the first time that maybe there was something worth getting up for in his lie-flat life.
Like teaching this desperate little gold digger what it really meant to "catch" someone.

Coming soon: Born Evil [Crime Investigation]
Steady but mischievous top vs. blond, blue-eyed, explosive-tempered bottom
A string of "zombie" cases appears in City A, suspected to be the work of an international fugitive.
An international police consultant is sent to investigate alongside the city's criminal investigation team.
Someone asks Gu Yu'an, "What's it like working a case with this young consultant?"
Gu Yu'an looks up at the sky and sighs:
"Thanks for asking. I'm at the hospital, my blood pressure is normal, and I'm emotionally stable.
Earlier, at the scene, he nearly sent both the kidnappers and the hostages to the afterlife with a single burst of gunfire. Good thing I stopped him.
The kidnappers were so scared they dropped their weapons and surrendered on the spot. The hostages sent our bureau a banner to thank us for sparing their lives. As for him...
Heh, he said I was mean to him, then cried while downing an entire bottle of vodka. I suspect he just wanted an excuse to drink.
That's all. I have to go calm him down, or he'll tear the place apart in a minute."
*
Only at the very end did Gu Yu'an understand.
Some people are born villains. Every word and action is a carefully woven lie.
They carve their wickedness into their bones and mingle their desires with their blood.
Theme: Justice will ultimately triumph over evil. Justice is never absent
What? Is it really gone? [Afraid] I don't want this kind of thing [Afraid]
For a new author, this is an excellent article. The plot line and emotional line are explained relatively completely. The narrative is compact and not protracted. There are many battle scenes and it has a sense of graphics (rare). Suggestions: 1. I feel that this chapter ended too quickly. The relationship between Chang Ying and Jiu Yao was not clearly explained in the final chapter. Maybe the author will continue to write in the extra chapter that Chang Ying will fully realize it and then die, but I think it can be completed in one or two chapters. 2. In the plot, I feel that the lines between Di Qing and Xuan Du, Xing Zhu and Cang Yuan have not been clearly explained. In addition, Cang Yuan is offline too quickly as a boss. I feel that the role of this character in the article only plays the role of explaining Chang Ying's life experience and the fatalism of heaven. So since Cangyuan represents the demon clan that resists fate, the author can actually enrich Cangyuan's personal background and his beliefs. I think Xie Yan, who is also a supporting character, is more complete. In addition, although the author has less ink, I think the character of Sui Yuesheng is well written and very subtle. Finally, the ending is sprinkled with flowers. The writing is great and the future is promising.
Why is it so funny how the thunder strikes? Hahahahahahahahahahaha [dog head]
Are they really two people? Impossible, we must come back round, otherwise what will happen [cracked]
When will the author publish a new article? I love the book Laozi and Xianyu that I received in advance [crying]
It feels great! No one is there.
This is too much of a riddle🌚🌚
I'm really at my wits end [cracked] [melted] Am I really in love with two people... I will collapse, don't mess with me [crying] [melted] Will it ever come back together...
I'm not a winner, young lovers don't want Plato [Afraid][Afraid][Afraid]
I laughed so hard at this trick hahahahaha [glasses] [glasses] [glasses]
