Lian Xing: A mechanical tinkerer who is ostracized by others, out of place in the world around him, lonely yet gentle.

Wei Xun: An interstellar soldier lost in the cosmic wilderness, calmly awaiting death, optimistic and open-minded.

Lian Xing received a strange transmission from space.

He had received many transmissions from space before. Some were requests for help, some were inquiries, and some were battle reports sent to him by mistake.

But this time, the person on the other end said only one thing:

"Hello. Want to chat?"

Chat...? Was this stranger lonely, just like him?

"Sure. What should we talk about?" Lian Xing replied.

From then on, Lian Xing often received transmissions from this mysterious person, and chatting with him gradually became the thing he looked forward to most each day. The man described the vastness of the universe before him. Lian Xing told him that the sky over the planet where he lived was always gray. The man told him many amazing stories, and Lian Xing said that the mechanical spaceship he was building was almost finished.

"When I've finished building the ship, I'll fly out to find you."

"Don't come. You won't find me," the person on the other end of the transmission said.

"Why?" Lian Xing asked, confused.

The person on the other end fell strangely silent. No sound came through for a long time.

Lian Xing didn't know that the man was already lost in the vast universe, beyond saving.

But how could he not go looking for him?

Once Lian Xing made up his mind, he threw himself into building his little spaceship, working night and day.

The sky, gray all year round, finally gained a sliver of light because of him.

Lian Xing was going to find the only sun in this gloomy world, even if it was at the farthest edge of the universe.

Theme: I could have endured the darkness, if I had never seen the light.
