Humans don't understand beings beyond humanity. To enter the real world, supernatural creatures must choose a human as a host. Though unable to act on their own, by observing every move their hosts make, supernatural creatures can still experience a vivid and fascinating life.
Supernatural creature: I'll just watch. I'm not the one who's hurting. If the human dies, I'll just find another host. Hee hee~
OOC synopsis: The transmigration journey of a supernatural golden dragon
After transmigrating through the barriers between worlds, she is mistakenly claimed as family by the amnesiac Rimbaud (a long-term meal ticket) and becomes Aurelia, the daughter of a human (a supernatural creature disguised as a human).
From the moment Rimbaud saw her, she had completely taken on the appearance of the person he loved most in his heart.
Three years old, with golden hair and green eyes, an elf-like sweet appearance, the strength of a dragon, and decidedly not human.
Chaotic good, an enormous appetite, immune to all poisons, maxed-out physical and mental defenses, a higher-dimensional being.
A man and a dragon search for family amid troubled times. In practice, this means beating up people who won't behave, sidelining a short-tempered old man, shamelessly pestering Chuuya, misleading Verlaine, devoting themselves to creating the most entertaining game of house, and even testing whether they can take off from the Eiffel Tower in Paris...
A dragon's thrilling life needs no explanation. Wherever she flies, that's home.
Little scene: Before Rimbaud regains his memory
Aurelia (cheerfully): Hide-and-seek, playing house... So these are the things humans enjoy!
Rimbaud (sadly): Darling, where did you go? Our daughter looks just like you, but there might be something wrong with her head. This single father is struggling to cope!
After Rimbaud regains his memory
Rimbaud (throwing caution to the wind): Let's just go along with the mistake! My friend's daughter is my daughter! My friend's little brother is my brother-in-law! Even if my friend is a man, he's still the love of my life!
Aurelia (confused): I don't understand, but it doesn't matter. I'm Father's (my meal ticket's) devoted little darling, anyway!
Years later
Chuuya (in disbelief): How did I end up being Rimbaud's brother-in-law? That can't be right!
Verlaine (bewildered): How did I end up being the love of Rimbaud's life? That makes no sense!
Rimbaud (without a hint of guilt): Paul, are you really thinking of abandoning your husband and daughter, leaving your brother-in-law behind, and going off to wander the world alone?
Aurelia (innocently and cheerfully): ...This is so complicated. I'd better go ask [Crime and Punishment]!
[Crime and Punishment]: You silly little dragon. In the human world, naturally, humans are the ones who communicate with you.
P.S.
The protagonist is not human, but a supernatural golden dragon. She's a young hatchling with an immature mind. There is a supporting-character couple: RanWei, with black-haired Rimbaud as the top and golden-haired Verlaine as the bottom.
The inspiration came from a chat with a reader in the comments of a serialized novel. A lovely reader mentioned a young dragon accidentally becoming the daughter of RanWei, and how their fractured friendship would lead to chaos from then on. For more details, see the discussion thread for "Young Arakawa Hatchling" in the author's collection. This is a tribute inspired by that idea.
Dragon: not human, maxed-out physical resistance and magical resistance, immune to mind control, incredibly strong, can fly.
The lovely reader kindly suggested the adorable name Aurelia. It comes from the Latin word "Aureus," meaning "gold." In Western legends, dragons guard precious treasures, and "Aurelia" conveys the quality of possessing golden riches, symbolizing prosperity and wealth.
Theme: Humans are naturally such a marvelous species.
