After Meeting a Cat, I Started Blowing My Cover

Jin Yu was born with yin-yang eyes and could see spirits like wisps of white smoke. Through this unusual ability, and with help from people he knew, he became a house cleanser: he lived in houses where people had died, exorcised the resentful spirits inside, then helped sell the homes again for a profit.

Jin Yu thrived in this line of work and saved up more and more money. Soon, he would be able to fulfill his dream of buying a car and a house, raising cats and dogs, and living happily ever after.

Then, during one house-cleansing job, he clearly saw a child's spirit for the first time. Until then, all he had ever seen were indistinct wisps of white smoke.

And in the living room, he came across a white cat chatting with the child.

The cat suddenly transformed into a handsome man, came up to him, and tenderly stroked his face. "You were a scholar in your past life. You sacrificed your soul to save me, and we need to find the pieces of it. Otherwise, you'll disappear very soon."

Jin Yu: "???"

And so, Jin Yu somehow embarked on a strange journey to discover "who I am."

A five-thousand-year-old tree spoke to him: "Flower God, long time no see."

He watched a purebred red fox transform into a human: "You brought me good luck, Koi Immortal."

He met a Taoist who claimed he had never misread a fortune: "Demon Lord, now that you have reclaimed your position, you can draw your sword and fight the gods."

Jin Yu: "I vaguely remember being a house cleanser."
