Yuta, Please Marry Me Again [Jujutsu Kaisen]

That day, I realized I had fallen for a boy.

At almost the same time, I realized the inevitable: the person I liked already had a girl he liked.

*

Tachibana Chika liked Yuta, but by the time she met him, he already had a girlfriend far cuter and more charming than she was.

So she kept her distance and quietly played the role of Extra A in their love story.

Later, his girlfriend died in an accident.

When Chika saw him again, the boy she liked had several scrapes on his face. He was huddled alone beside a bloodstained shoe cabinet, trembling in terror, surrounded by heaps of trash who were too mangled to recognize.

At that moment, Tachibana Chika could no longer lie to herself about her feelings, and reached out to him first.

From then on, she fought delinquents for his sake, learned to cook for him, helped him fit in with his class, and introduced him to new friends...

After all those years, Tachibana Chika thought she ought to have earned a name in his story by now.

Turns out it was just her diary of pining after a guy who didn't like her :)

The person she liked had apparently always been sharing a tragic, all-consuming romance with his dead first love. Chika was just an intrusive, unnecessary "protector" who had imagined herself getting between them.

The living can never beat the dead.

On the day Rika attained Buddhahood, Tachibana Chika understood that and finally decided to let go of her feelings.

But he came running after her through the rain.

His drenched black hair clung to the face that had grown more refined and gloomy with age. His fingers clamped around her wrist so tightly they were turning white, and the calluses on his sword-wielding hand rubbed painfully against her skin.

With a terrifying expression, as if the whole world were about to abandon him, he asked, "You were only nice to me because of Rika, weren't you?"

So now that Rika was gone, she couldn't wait to leave him.

Chika didn't answer. For a moment, she'd rediscovered her new mother tongue: speechlessness.

Wait, what makes you think I like your girlfriend???

※ A few things to know:

1. Yuta is the love interest. A sweet romance-focused story, written as a return to form. The heroine pursues the hero, but everyone thinks it's a story about a woman devoted to a widower for love. (It isn't.)

2. It's sweet, it has a happy ending, and the heroine is actually very popular. Both leads find healing through each other.

3. Make sure to check the title, blurb, and male lead! The leads won't get together while Yuta is with Rika's spirit, so fans of that pairing, please don't come after me.

Theme: Love isn't a curse. It's magic that makes people happy.
