When Wen Yuezhou first met Jing Yan, the young man was dead drunk at a bar. Clinging to him like a koala, he refused to let go and mumbled, "Don't leave me..."
Wen Yuezhou raised an eyebrow. "I'm going to bed. Are you coming too?"
"Then I'll hug you while we sleep. You'll be so soft and comfy."
Wen Yuezhou could only sigh and actually held him as they slept through the night.
A germaphobe like him had slept while holding a stranger... If word got out, the whole city of Wencheng would probably be in an uproar.
The second time Wen Yuezhou heard about Jing Yan was at a matchmaking dinner.
His business partner was engaged to the second young master of the Jing family and kept going on about how good and outstanding he was, and how marrying such a gentle, lovable young man was a blessing his ancestors had earned for him.
Unable to help himself, Wen Yuezhou interrupted. "You mean Jing Yan?"
His business partner looked surprised. "I'm talking about the Jing family's second young master, Jing Junzhe. How could I mean Jing Yan? Jing Yan... Is he even worthy?"
Only later did Wen Yuezhou learn how notorious Jing Yan was in high society. He'd been jilted twice, become a laughingstock, and never once shone in public like his immensely popular younger brother.
Rumor had it that Jing Yan was short-tempered, wild and unruly, obsessed with looking cool, and a spendthrift, with not a single redeeming quality. It was no wonder he'd been kicked out of his family home.
But Wen Yuezhou remembered the Jing Yan he'd met. Once the prickly shell fell away, Jing Yan had clearly followed him around timidly, his eyes unusually bright and his voice tinged with hurt.
"Sir... Could you hold me?"
Jing Yan had always thought he was the coolest and had no need for love.
His one embarrassing secret was that he'd accidentally gotten drunk and slept while hugging a stranger. Afterwards, he'd scraped together a thousand yuan in cash and paid the man not to tell anyone.
But some time later, his family ran short of money, and he inexplicably ended up "marrying in someone else's place." His new partner wore a gentle expression and smiled until Jing Yan's face burned.
"Is a thousand yuan enough to get a marriage certificate?"
What a joke. Would an unconventional rock musician like him really get together with a calligraphy master, a dull old man who soaked goji berries in hot water for his health?
Bonus scene:
Right after they got married, Jing Yan said, "Hmph, I'm just a substitute anyway. Stay away from me! Don't touch me! Keep your distance in public. We don't interfere with each other's lives, OK?"
One month into the marriage, Jing Yan thought, "Not only does this guy respect my hobbies, he can even help me write lyrics and compose music, go on roller coasters with me, and explore secret realms... Wait, is he really a boring calligrapher?"
Three months into the marriage, Jing Yan said, "...I want to run away from home, but there's lion's head meat and fermented rice dumplings tonight... Maybe I'll leave tomorrow instead."
Half a year... a year later.
Wen Yuezhou went to a party and spent a little too long talking to someone. His phone rang more than ten times.
Jing Yan was like a little hedgehog bristling with anger and nowhere to direct it. He refused to let Wen Yuezhou come near him. "Don't come back. Other people's floors must be more comfortable, right?"
Wen Yuezhou laughed. Ignoring Jing Yan's punches and kicks, he picked him up and carried him to bed.
"What floor could be softer and sweeter than you, hmm?"
Gentle-looking, restrained, secretly cunning gong x sharp-tongued shou who can't stay tough for more than three seconds, insecure and jealous. Both are sexually inexperienced. One-on-one. Happy ending.
Reading guide:
1. The story has a somewhat lighthearted, sweet-and-sour feel.
2. Set in a world where same-sex marriage is legal. The gong is six years older than the shou. The calligrapher is just one of the gong's secret identities; he has others.
3. The shou didn't get engaged of his own accord. The gong and shou are the ones who truly love each other.
4. If it's really not your thing, please don't force yourself to read it or leave a comment. Just click the X in the upper-right corner, and maybe we'll meet again in my next book. QAQ
