Go watch it! * This story will be premium from August 1, with 10,000 words posted on the first day. * A short, sweet story of 200,000 words. Hope you enjoy! Please check out my upcoming story, [Genshin Impact] How to Raise a Xiao. It’s in my author collection. Please give it a favorite! Kohira Yukari started playing the game Genshin Impact Character-Raising Guide after a friend recommended it. Although the gameplay was completely different from the gacha RPG her friend had described, the oblivious Kohira Yukari didn’t suspect a thing. She just thought it was a spin-off from the same company. What did it matter which game she played? Games in the same series were sure to be just as fun! First, adopt a little bird. Yukari: “Wow, so his name is Great Demon Golden Peng? That’s so cool!” What? The little bird is being controlled by an unknown boss? Yukari: “Buy gems! Buy gems! I’ll spend money to beat the unknown boss at match-three and free my baby!” What? The little bird is eating snow to stave off hunger? Yukari: “Waaah, my baby is so pitiful. Buy gems! Buy gems! Buy everything! Let’s get my baby some nutritious meals! Kaiseki cuisine! Almond tofu! High-calcium milk! Let’s make sure he eats his fill and grows big and tall!” The little bird comes back with a new friend. Yukari: “…Why is my baby friends with a rock? Waaah, my baby. He must have gone stupid from eating snow earlier, right?” With Yukari’s devoted company and generous spending, her baby grows up healthy. At last, one day, the System displays a notification: [The young Great Demon Golden Peng you raised has reached adulthood. Would you like to release him?] Yukari is incredibly reluctant, but she knows her child has grown up and can’t stay by her side forever, so she sadly releases him. * Not long afterward, Yukari forgets all about the game and happily goes hiking with Sonoko and the others. Fog rolls in along the way, their car breaks down in the forest, and strange, thick mist rises all around them. The oblivious Yukari isn’t scared at all. She cheerfully doodles on the car window. First, a heart, then her baby, and happily, she writes his name. When she finishes the final stroke of “Xiao,” Yukari looks up and sees figures flickering in the thick fog. A young yaksha wearing a mask steps slowly out of the mist, his golden eyes fixed on Yukari. “Three hundred years have passed. At last, I hear you call my name again.” “So, can you tell me yourself now why you abandoned me back then?” * A sweet romance. I just started playing the game and got inspired to write this for Xiao. The main story will start at the end of the year. * Set in the Detective Conan world. I’ll undo a few of the canon deaths within the timeline. The girl won’t travel to the Genshin Impact world, but other Genshin Impact characters will make guest appearances. * Three warnings for now. Theme: Always believe in love and hope
