Take It Slow

Elegant, refined, and gentle bookstore owner uke x deep, cold woodcarving shop owner seme

Yi Juanqing has always held to the belief that love grows over time. He thinks love at first sight is just a shallow theory born from the senses being struck by someone's looks.

Until the day his bookstore opened, when he saw the man across the street in the woodcarving shop, carefully shaping a piece of wood with a carving knife.

At a single glance, for the first time, he found himself at odds with the principles about love he had always stood by.

Xing Ze was like the wood in his shop: stiff and taciturn.

He was also like a fine wine aged over the years, rich and mellow.

All he needed was a spark to burn with heat.

Yi Juanqing would be that spark.

For the first time in his thirty-one years, Yi Juanqing took the initiative to pursue someone. He brought the impulsive ardor of a young man, along with the sincere charm of a mature one.

And he managed to smash the wall Xing Ze had built around his heart to pieces.

A few things to know before reading:

1. Both characters have past relationships. If that bothers you, don't read.

2. A slow-burn, everyday story about two older men, with a happy ending.

3. The uke pursues the seme at first, then the seme pursues the uke midway through.
