Jun Xi is intensely drawn to powerful people, and the position Ying Chenshu has attained is a height she could never reach in her next life.

By sheer luck, she moved into one of his vacant homes. He told her he only came back to stay for a few days each year, when the pear blossoms bloomed, because the house had pear trees.

Perhaps the more powerful people are, the kinder they are to those below them. Ying Chenshu treated her very well. He was always willing to effortlessly solve any major problem Jun Xi ran into, so he came back frequently during that period.

Once, when Jun Xi had drunk too much, she let some of her feelings slip while chatting with him. "They say online that a good life partner can ease half of life's suffering. What do you think, Mr. Ying?"

Ying Chenshu said, "It's hard to find that person."

Jun Xi said, "But I found him."

She didn't know whether he understood what she was hinting at, but later Jun Xi discovered an even bigger secret of Ying Chenshu's, so she didn't stay by his side any longer.

Jun Xi left the city and lost contact with him.

Later, in another city, they unexpectedly ran into each other again at her restaurant. He'd left his phone at the restaurant, and Jun Xi accidentally found two notes about herself on it.

He braved the wind and pouring rain late at night to retrieve his phone, but got stranded in the restaurant.

Ying Chenshu asked her, "I heard this restaurant can't stay open. Someone's giving you trouble."

Jun Xi shook her head. "You don't need to worry about me. I just don't want to run it anymore."

"You're still amazing, Xixi. You left me and still built a great life for yourself, but do we have to be so distant?"

But Jun Xi no longer dared to hope for anything, or take another step into his world. After settling him in her break room, she was about to leave.

Ying Chenshu caught her slender wrist, just like he had one night in the past, and held her in his arms.

"It's just a secret, Xixi. I don't even care about it, so why are you hiding from me? Once you're on the ship, you can't just get off whenever you want. Ying Chenshu's ship only sails with the wind at its back, always pressing forward."
