The Center Never Disappoints

[Blurb] The pastoral reality show called "The Moonlight Is Beautiful Tonight" is hugely popular. Its premise is that people work in pairs, so sparks often fly between the various celebrities, sending them to the trending topics for better or worse. When Bai Yi went on the show, her partner was a male guest, a singer who had already reached a point of wanting nothing more from his position in the music world. Rumor had it that he was laid-back and unconventional, devoting himself only to music and romance, and had never had a scandal. Bai Yi was a newcomer who had only filmed one movie, and it hadn't even been released yet. Nobody online knew who she was. But Teacher Xuan had such stature that he had to be placed in the center of the promotional poster, so she benefited too and got to stand in the middle. Still, everyone thought they were worlds apart. Surely the immortal-like Teacher Xuan had nothing to talk about with a rookie like her on a variety show, and even if they did talk, she wouldn't understand. This pairing had no chemistry at all and would be completely uninteresting. The show soon aired. On the first day of filming, a heavy rain fell over the ancient city. After everyone finished shopping and headed back, the male guests' umbrellas were blown every which way, while the female guests were soaked by the rain. The whole group looked utterly miserable. In the crowd, Teacher Xuan carried Bai Yi on his back. She held an umbrella over them and softly hummed one of his songs. The two of them returned in a relaxed, romantic mood. That night, the trending topic "The center spot never disappoints" went viral. [Important: None of the characters are based on real people.
