You Have Tattoos, You Go First

[Next book]

They say the reason He Jinyi, the campus heartthrob of A University's law school, doesn't date is that he can't forget his ex.

According to his fangirls, the ex was poor and ugly, four feet eleven, had only an elementary-school education, and was registered as a rural resident.

Everyone says it's good that they broke up. He was never good enough for our beautiful campus heartthrob!

At the start of his sophomore year, He Jinyi's best friend got challenged to a fight and begged him to come back him up.

Best friend: "Dad, help!"

He Jinyi: "What?"

Best friend: "That idiot from the sports department is getting his big brother to beat me up! Don't you have a tattoo? Come help me look tough, please!"

He Jinyi: "...It's my ex's name. You want me to tell them I'm a lovesick fool?"

Best friend: "Then... how about putting on a Pikachu sticker?"

He Jinyi: "..."

On the day of the fight, He Jinyi realized the sports department's leader was Jiang Ye, his rich playboy ex-boyfriend.

Jiang Ye had just finished training. He casually took off his headband, grabbed He Jinyi by the collar, and yanked him close.

His best friend trembled as he took out his phone to call for help.

Onlookers: This ex-boyfriend doesn't seem to match the rumors. Hmm, he's way too handsome.

The two stood with their backs to everyone else.

Only He Jinyi could see that the usually arrogant and domineering campus bully had red-rimmed eyes. He stared stubbornly at the Pikachu on He Jinyi's collarbone and asked, "You got the tattoo removed?"

He Jinyi pressed his lips together and said nothing.

Jiang Ye's eyes grew even redder. Gritting his teeth, he said, "You're really ruthless. I couldn't bring myself to get mine removed."

He Jinyi lowered his eyes. The right hand gripping his collar loosened slightly, revealing three letters tattooed at the end of Jiang Ye's lifeline: J.He.

Jiang Ye, feeling spiteful, taunted him with a cold laugh. "You can probably guess what I often do with this hand, every time your name gets pressed against it..."

He Jinyi suddenly raised his eyes and punched him in the face amid a wave of gasps.
