Raising Cubs: Cats Are the Professionals

After benefiting from humanity, Qian Hui woke one day to receive a request from an old acquaintance, sent a thousand years ago.

Help protect my descendants.

A thousand years later, not even a bone remained of that old acquaintance, and the world had transformed into a jungle of steel.

Qian Hui ran three hundred red lights and crossed eight hundred roads, sometimes walking, sometimes flying, until she finally found the last descendant of her old acquaintance.

A little girl with hair that looked like it had been chewed by a dog, one pant leg shorter than the other, and dirt all over her.

The little girl was baring her teeth and claws as she fought a chubby boy.

"I have a mom! I have a mom! My mom loves me best, and she'll protect me!"

The chubby boy had a bruised and swollen face.

"You're lying! Where's your mom, then?"

Before the chubby boy's fist could hit the little girl, Qian Hui caught it.

"Right here."

Fang Luoluo had a father who died young and a mother who was dealt a cruel fate after remarrying. Later, her stepfather married a stepmother, and Fang Luoluo was beaten every day.

She hadn't been lying. Before she turned eight, her mother was still there, and her mother loved her.

Her mother knitted her pretty sweaters,

combed her hair into lovely little braids,

and made her fragrant steamed egg custard on her birthday.

Qian Hui stared at the stove she'd accidentally blown up, at a loss.

"..."

"Does it have to be egg custard?"
