A Beastly Animal Story

In his previous life, Xi Yuan was an orphan. After a kind benefactor helped him get into college, he was stabbed eight times by a criminal while trying to stop a crime and died on the spot.

Perhaps good people are rewarded, because when Xi Yuan opens his eyes, he discovers that he has been given another chance at life. The catch is that he's become a fluffy, unknown baby bird!

First, he'd better chirp and see if he can figure out what kind of bird he is!

Xi Yuan, straining with all his might: "Chirp!!!"

Xi Yuan: "..."

Fortunately, just as he is feeling lost, Mother Bird arrives and lets out a familiar cry: "Kreee!"

Xi Yuan suddenly understands. It's you! The voice actor of the bird world! The buzzard!

But just when Xi Yuan thinks he's still on Earth and might even get the chance to peck that robber a few times, he suddenly transforms into a human in a completely unscientific turn of events... And his bird mother acts as if this is perfectly normal!

Xi Yuan: "???"

Of course, this is another world. Xi Yuan soon learns that not only can some animals turn into humans here, but some male birds can also lay eggs across reproductive barriers.

Xi Yuan, forcing a smile: "Thanks for asking. I'm a mother of three now."

Aquil, looking innocent: "?"

The bottom is a red-tailed hawk, and the top is a golden eagle.

I write according to my own tastes and will seriously consult reference materials, but the worldbuilding is whatever the story needs. What does science matter in another world! They're birds almost all the time, and only occasionally take human form for convenience. There are eggs.
