I Disguised Myself as a Man and Became a Yamen Constable

Zhao Hao had practiced martial arts for thirteen years. She said her greatest wish in life was to become a gallant hero of the martial world.

Her father, Prince Ning, flew into a rage on the spot and threw a few punches at thin air, mainly because he couldn't beat the little brat at home.

In the end, her mother, Princess Consort Ning, wiped away a tear and persuaded her highly skilled daughter to take a step back. With our status, it really wouldn't be convenient to roam the martial world. How about finding a nearby county office and becoming a constable for a while? At least then you'd be right under your parents' noses.

Zhao Hao thought it over and decided that would work. So she packed a bundle and ran away.

Zhao Hao left home and diligently worked as a constable for a year. At the end of the year, she returned to the capital in grand style, bringing along several cases she had helped solve.

Prince Ning went to the palace every day to brag to his imperial elder brother, the emperor, about how capable his daughter was. Little did he know that a murder had just taken place in the capital, and no one could figure out who the culprit was. The emperor thought this was perfect and ordered Kang'an Commandery Princess Zhao Hao to investigate the case.

By day, Zhao Hao diligently investigated the case. At night, she earnestly wrote letters: "Wei Zhizhuo, save me, save me, save me!"

Wei Zhizhuo: "I'm working on it!"

Wei Zhizhuo was an obscure yet brilliant detective from Xiping County. Even today, he was working hard to solve cases so he could win the commandery princess's hand in marriage.

A highly skilled, earnest, sunny heroine x a jaded, world-weary hero

I'll do my best to write it. Feel free to take a look.

This is a fictional setting, and I don't recommend scrutinizing the historical details. Some elements are based on real history, but most are made up.

And now, a recommendation for my friend's ongoing novel! Ahhh, my friend's horror mystery is absolutely incredible. You definitely won't regret giving it a try!!!

Deep Space Arrival by Zi Qiong

The stars open their eyes in the night;

On the moldy carpet, can you see the dried mucus?

Hush, listen:

They're discussing again who should be next tonight.

The writhing thing is silver fungus;

The thing that squirms is a pitch-black lake;

The murmuring tide whispers, muttering madness and malice.

And so the cold wind blows out strings of chilling laughter,

Giggling, bursting with fullness, then breaking apart.

They turn their compound eyes,

And ask again and again:

Who discovered the secret of the worms?

Liang Wanyi never imagined that one day she would gaze up at familiar yet strange stars on an unknown, silent planet, searching the vast, boundless sky for Earth, 2.54 million light-years away.

★ A modern alternate-universe mystery with horror and science fiction elements.

★ Lovecraftian in style, and possibly just a little bit terrifying.

★ Not a power fantasy, nor a story about an exceptionally capable heroine.

★ There is a male lead. He appears fairly late, but he's an important character, not a background prop, and the romance will be given proper attention.

Theme: What goes around comes around. Be a good person.
