1. The heroine's story:
She hears that her imperial uncle, the emperor, has granted the Chief Minister a residence right next door to her family's home.
Though Yun Hua lives secluded in the inner quarters, she's heard plenty of stories about the Chief Minister. He's the dream man of countless young women in Great Jin, and the ideal that countless men aspire to become.
But rumors say he has an unusual preference: he doesn't love women, but favors men, and he and Xu Wenyu, heir to the Marquis of Dingbei, are a couple.
Yun Hua doesn't care about anything else. She's simply curious whether the Chief Minister and the young heir Xu are really together. So she secretly climbs onto the wall to get a closer look and uncover the truth.
But before she can find out, Chief Minister Xie comes to propose to her.
Yun Hua is a little bewildered. She thinks, Is he planning to marry me as a mere ornament, to silence the rumors, then carry on with his romance with the young heir Xu in private?
Well, that doesn't sound so bad.
2. The hero's story:
Xie Qian once lived in darkness. Then he met her, pure and kind, like a ray of light shining into his life.
From then on, he studied literature and martial arts, worked hard, and fought his way up with reckless determination. When she came of age at fifteen, he watched her joyfully marry her childhood sweetheart, her cousin. The next time he saw her, she was miserable and withdrawn.
Later, she became a casualty of political power struggles. That ray of light went out, and he returned to the darkness, eventually dying before her grave.
Perhaps his obsession ran too deep, because Xie Qian returned to the time before they first met. There was still time to change everything.
Reborn, he would turn everything around. He deliberately delayed their meeting, step by step rose to the position of Chief Minister, became her neighbor, then slowly lured her to his side...
Little scene:
Yun Hua: "Husband, the young heir Xu is here!" (starry-eyed)
Xie Qian: "Mm, I know." (smiles indulgently)
Note: In his previous life, the hero wasn't involved in the center of power in Shengjing, so there were many plots and schemes he didn't know about then, but will gradually learn about in this life!

The heroine's story:
Li Yue has a dream. In it, she travels a thousand miles to marry Shen Yu, the son of an old friend of her father's.
With eight sedan bearers and a wedding procession stretching ten miles, she is overjoyed. Then the scene shifts, and she sees herself lying on the ground in a dilapidated little courtyard, barely breathing, tears streaming down her face.
A young woman stands beside her. It's her cousin, who had taken such good care of her when she first arrived in the capital. Her husband stands outside, impatiently urging her to hurry.
"The Li family is truly wealthier than the emperor. Yet even they couldn't withstand the iron cavalry of the Prince of Huaibei. Heh heh... Not one of you Li family members survived."
"Cousin, staying alive is painful too. Let your cousin send you on your way!"
And so Li Yue watches helplessly as the woman in her dream is strangled and hung from a roof beam, her face deathly pale...
The hero's story:
At eighteen, Jiang Yun was ambushed on his way south and rescued by a young woman, who took him to Puan Temple. While unconscious, he pulled off the jade pendant she wore. The character "Yue" was carved into it.
Three years later, they meet again in the capital. She is already married to someone else.
Later, Jiang Yun's revenge plan fails by a hair. She dies, and he meets a miserable end too.
Pain surges through him. He suddenly opens his eyes to a scene both familiar and strange. The corner of his mouth lifts in a sinister, crazed smile.
If everything can begin again, then he will overturn that ending completely. He will reclaim everything that belongs to him, piece by piece.
But in this life, the young woman seems to dislike him.

"Madam, don't blame me", hiss, once I take the role of Tang Monk, I won't be able to get out!!!
Book friends, have a healthy Dragon Boat Festival!
Come on, madam, take the test and wait for updates
First of all, thank you for the limited exemption. The plot is good, but I feel that many words need to be reconsidered. Writing ancient prose is different from modern prose. Many words are only available in modern times. I hope I can read it again and revise it before posting!
It looks good overall~
"Yunshu" is a big thorn in the side of the author~ I'm stupid, I made a typo. It should be "Yunxi", right here
"Yunshu" is a big thorn in the side of the author~ Should it be "Yunyi"?
The introduction is pretty good, I'll collect it first and then talk about it.
It's funny, "What's wrong with the kids these days?" Hahahahahahahahaha
It's good, but I'm busy with big things later on, so the male and female protagonists have very few roles.
