The Many Consequences of Adopting Your Enemy’s Child

(The title and blurb may change, but the premise will stay the same.)

Li Fangchen's biggest regret was that, while on his way to burn down the filthy place where his humiliating past had taken place, he took pity on a child and brought him back. He kept him in his castle as a pet, lied that he was the child's savior, and ordered him around to do chores...

As the flames devoured everything belonging to his enemies, Li Fangchen watched the blaze with a cigarette in his mouth. He saw a child covered in experimental scars stumble out of the fire's embrace toward him, staring at him with the pitch-black eyes of his enemy's bloodline.

Without time to wonder when he'd failed to notice a survivor, Li Fangchen suddenly said with a wicked grin:

"Hey, kid, want to come with me?"

Twenty years passed in the blink of an eye. Li Fangchen was leisurely crunching on frozen blood plasma on a sunny afternoon when an ancient spell knocked him out. When he woke up, he found himself restrained like a canary, with the little slave he'd ordered around for over twenty years beside him.

The peerlessly handsome black-haired man saw him wake and lifted his gaze from the black notebook in his palm, smiling faintly. "Good morning, my master."

"I wonder if you, the great philanthropist, remember the lies you told me back then?"

"And how I was punished by being made to kneel outside because the water I brought you was too hot in winter?"

Li Fangchen: "..." I-I don't remember.
