I guess I couldn't find the kind of story I wanted, with supernatural powers and a future setting, so I'm writing one myself. It was a very impulsive decision, but I'll do my best to finish it.
Here's the proper blurb:
After the first year of the apocalyptic disasters and zombie outbreak, humanity develops supernatural abilities and soon begins fighting a new enemy: the alien race.
In 20xx, the war between humanity and the aliens breaks out once again. Why are the aliens attacking on an unprecedented scale this time? Are there secrets about the great battle ten years ago that remain unknown?
The Guardian Army and the vanguard warriors join forces, protecting human territory and uncovering the brutal history of the past.
"The dust from a battlefield is more than just dust." His eyes hold not only the exhaustion that comes after war, but also a grief that only those who have lived through it can know.
The story is told from both the top's and the bottom's points of view. Since this came from a sudden inspiration, I may have overlooked some details, and I'll revise as needed.
He sits on a rock with a long-range rifle in his arms, covered in blood and utterly alone, while soldiers celebrate behind him. He lifts his head. In a world torn apart by war, he sees someone else, walking straight toward him through the night and the flames, like a meteor breaking through every shadow.
In that instant, his eyes and his heart are filled with him.
A short scene:
Song Chang'an (excited): It's finally over!
Lan Yi (disdainful): Why are you so excited?
Zhong You (joining in): You can finally take your beauty home, right?
Song Chang'an (nodding furiously)
Li Shuo (passing by, puzzled): What are you talking about?
The three of them (shaking their heads together)
Zhong You (with a fox's smile): Nothing. You have to believe me.
Li Shuo: ...Fine. (Can't be bothered to argue. I need to rest.)
(Leaves.)
The three of them (huddling together to whisper): The wedding and all that...
Coming soon: "Got Any Wild Moves Today?"
Blurb:
Yan Yi was sent to take part in the Global Criminal Investigation Skills Competition after his superiors used a combination of threats and promises. He never imagined he'd meet a young man at the domestic qualifiers who radiated an air of "elegant aloofness." He looked like he needed to catch his breath every three steps, coughed every five steps, and every ten steps...
Every ten steps, he solved a math Olympiad problem that Yan Yi couldn't even understand!
Naturally, they teamed up to represent their country in the international competition.
But Yan Yi had a hard time understanding the detective's thought process.
At the duke's reception, everyone else was nervously following the storyline, while he slipped away to shower the beautiful maids with his irresistible charm. He left them all dizzy, then walked away, like a heartless scumbag who'd gotten what he wanted and moved on.
In the doll world, everyone was wary of the dolls' twisted, unpredictable nature. He took his heartless teddy bear to the theater to watch "Hachiko," personally demonstrating how "people can fake it, but dolls have real menace," then booked out an amusement park.
On the haunted train, everyone was on edge and reluctant to talk to the NPCs. He repaid their hostility with kindness, successfully won one over, and then lay flat until dawn.
And somehow, these bizarre tactics worked brilliantly. He came in first every time, to the point that even the System joined in:
One second: "...One hundred percent safe."
The next: "Everyone, do your best to clear the level and reach paradise as soon as possible!"
That was that. Even his teammates let loose. They shouted, "Slacking off makes me happy!" while demonstrating "the workaholic's guide to self-cultivation," and fought harder than anyone.
So who ended up wearing the agonized expression? (The gaze of fellow workers from other countries.jpg)
The culprit declared, "Back then, I stood with my hands on my hips, and nobody could match me!"
Theme: Love, friendship, and the military: hope will never be erased. Here's to heroes who will live forever.
The writing in Chapter 4 is much better than the first three chapters.
