She and Her Dazai Cat

Yuzu Aoi rescued a cat

and named it Caramel.

Caramel had a sweet face that far outdid its name:

soft, fluffy black fur; eyes like flowing syrup, sweet enough to melt your heart.

And...

a cute, high-pitched meow that could wrap any human around its paw.

At the same time,

it had a nasty personality that was the complete opposite of its angelic appearance.

It tore its paw pads.

When Yuzu Aoi took it to the hospital for treatment, it showed no gratitude at all. It used both its mouth and claws, leaving her hands covered in blood, and swore at her, too.

From its expression, it was cursing up a storm.

Yuzu Aoi: “Caramel, if you keep this up, I'm going to kiss you.”

Caramel: Its pupils shrank. It fell silent at once.

During recovery.

One second, she'd put its Elizabethan collar on properly. The next, it would be standing on the white shards, chin held high and looking down at her.

On top of that, whenever it was mealtime, it would sneakily unlock the door, leap onto the table, and brazenly shove the food onto the floor.

The list went on and on.

Things took a turn half a month later, after all the chaos.

The wind blew into Yuzu Aoi's eyes, making them water. She went to look at Caramel with red-rimmed eyes.

The cat that was always haughty, scornful of everyone, aloof, too lazy to eat, and always looking for trouble.

Tentatively, it stretched out its tail and gently brushed her, then gave a sweet little “Meow.”
