Heaven and the mortal realm are worlds apart.
But he is the only thing the human and celestial races have in common.
A rat crossing the street, hated by everyone.
None of the Plague Gods assigned as his official partners
has ever lasted ten thousand years.
But he is Heaven's model worker,
devoted to his job as God of Misfortune for well over a hundred thousand years.
While on official business in the mortal realm, he kindly
saved a boy.
But just by touching his hand,
the boy was plagued by bad luck for the rest of his life.
Years later, the boy ascended to Heaven.
Though his future was bright, he insisted on becoming a Plague God.
And so the two traveled together for many years.
Then, on one assignment, the God of Misfortune was taken by the Plague God...
And so! The mortal realm and Heaven fell into chaos.
Fortune God: Where did all my merit go!
Attendant: Boss... All the offerings from human incense rituals are going to the God of Misfortune!
Fortune God: What on earth are they praying for!
Waiter: Boss, why are you still praying to the God of Wealth?
Tavern Owner: I'm running a business. Who else am I supposed to pray to?
Waiter: The God of Misfortune!
Tavern Owner: Are you sure you're not reinforcements sent by the monkeys?
