Shen Lian didn't take him to the Imperial Prison. Instead, he brought him to his residence outside the palace.

On the way, everyone treated them with great respect, but not because of Jiang Yu.

The repeated calls of "My Lord" made Jiang Yu's back turn cold.

Jiang Yu was locked in a room.

He watched Shen Lian approach step by step, nearly crushing the bedding beneath his hands.

"Are you going to kill me?"

Shen Lian's eyes were vicious. "No. Your Highness must live. This servant will put you on that throne, dressed in imperial yellow... and make you a minister beneath me."
