My Deskmate Kageyama: A Pretty Face Bought with Brains and Charm

The first time Yui Yano saw Kageyama, the boy sitting behind her, she thought he must be a quiet, brilliant top student. She was already imagining the wonderful days ahead, copying his homework every day and having a genius to lean on. But who could have guessed he was actually a social disaster with no people skills, sleeping through class every day and getting terrible grades, with all his skill points poured into volleyball? He was as dense as they come. The perfect homework-copying tool she'd imagined had turned into a total idiot who attracted the teacher's attention every single class. Did volleyball really make him forget to eat and sleep...? Watching her desk mate sleep so soundly that the teacher had to haul him upright, only for him to keep nodding off, Yui fell into deep thought. Help, when will they let us change seats...? #A sweet, slice-of-life school romance. There isn't much volleyball match content, and the heroine doesn't play volleyball either. It's pretty mundane, honestly, really, truly. # #My writing is at an elementary-school level. If anything bothers you while reading, please click the back button in the top left and leave. If you want to yell at me, I'll prostrate myself and slide away. # #OOC, OOC, OOC warning. Kageyama's personality is really hard to get right when he's in love with volleyball. # Coming soon: Sweet Fragrance. The first time she went there to buy bubble tea, he put the wrong toppings in her drink. When she pointed it out, his wide, black-and-white eyes opened even wider. He looked completely flustered. “I'm sorry! I'll make you another one!” “Can I give this one to you for free? Please don't file a complaint!” Even though Xia Zhaoying told him it wasn't that serious, the bubble tea guy insisted on comping her drink and made a promise: “Next time you come in, I definitely won't get your order wrong!” ...Really? Xia Zhaoying wasn't so sure. He looked clumsy and inexperienced, clearly a new hire. Next time she came by, she was definitely not going to ask an employee like that to make her drink... * Two days later At the same dessert shop. As the bubble tea guy apologized in embarrassment, Xia Zhaoying held the two drinks she'd gotten for free once again and couldn't help thinking: If you keep doing this, won't they dock your entire paycheck?! * A few more days passed. After the bubble tea guy messed up her order yet again, Xia Zhaoying was perfectly calm. She was used to it by now. He seemed used to it too. He expertly made her two drinks, no longer flustered like he had been the previous times, and even cheerfully started recommending other things from the shop. “Our cream puffs and pudding are really popular. Want to take some home and try them?” Xia Zhaoying was tempted, but turned him down. “No, thanks. I don't have that much pocket money.” He nodded, wispy bangs brushing his handsome brows and eyes. The eyes visible above his mask gradually curved into crescents. A few minutes later, he handed Xia Zhaoying her drinks along with a simple paper bag. His muffled laughter came through the mask. “There's freshly baked cream puffs, pudding, and egg tarts in here. Please have them. If you like them, remember to come back and support our shop next time ^^” Xia Zhaoying: “?!!” Are you really making any money working like this?! * One-on-one, both experiencing their first love. Sweet girl and sweet boy, pure artificial sugar, and not a long story. * Two childish little kids falling in love! (Emphasis!) A simple, sweet, everyday story. Theme: The simple things in life are what matter most.
