The Delicate Supporting Actress in a Period Novel Is My Mom

Ever since Tong Jiao could remember, her mom had been a fierce, foul-mouthed shrew who argued with her dad every other day. But it was always just petty squabbling, until the year Tong Jiao turned eighteen, when the police came to her school and told her, "Your mom killed your dad."

Tong Jiao rushed home and saw her dad lying in a pool of blood, while her mom stood nearby, still cursing furiously. She fainted before she could catch her breath.

When she opened her eyes again, she had transmigrated to the time when her mom was only eighteen.

?

She learned that she had been living in the world of a novel all along, and that her mom was the delicate female supporting character in the story.

Tong Jiao: "!!!"

She couldn't believe that her future mom, who would chase her down several streets with a feather duster and eventually stab her dad more than a dozen times, had once been a delicate flower who burst into tears at the slightest thing, so fragile and pitiable that anyone would feel sorry for her.

?

Tong Jiao ran ahead, while her mom chased after her, calling in a sweet, girlish voice, "Auntie, wait for me."

That's right, it was this thrilling: taking turns being the mom was quite a feeling. Of course, Tong Jiao didn't put on airs either. Even though she was the older generation by seniority, she was the same age as her mom, and every day she'd throw an arm around her mom and treat her like a brother.

?

Since her mom was a love-struck female supporting character, her only purpose was to be an insignificant stepping stone on the female lead's path to wealth and beauty. She endured a miserable life and suffered blow after blow, and that was what changed her personality.

Tong Jiao didn't want her mom to go astray. Like a true elder, she earnestly advised her:

Why bother with romance? Study hard and get into college. That's the right path.

Why bother with romance? Focus on doing business and making money. That's the way to go.

Theme: Daughters should be self-reliant.
