A Cautionary Tale

They're just looking to relax and have fun, but he never expects someone to drug him. Luckily, just when things are getting dangerous, he meets a kind stranger named Pei Xu. Pei Xu is tall, handsome, and young. His skills aren't great, but at least he listens to Jiang Ke. The next morning, Jiang Ke runs off. Pei Xu can't stop thinking about him, but there's nothing he can do. Later, at the opening ceremony for new students at Chun University, Jiang Ke takes the stage as an outstanding student representative to deliver a welcome speech. The younger students in the audience whisper among themselves: "If it weren't for Senior Jiang Ke, I wouldn't have come back early." "Senior Jiang Ke is so handsome. He's grown up with everything going his way, always getting what he wants, and has hardly ever faced a setback. But all that comes to an abrupt end when he breaks his leg in a car race. After he's discharged from the hospital, he isn't even allowed to go home. His father packs him off to the Xu family, supposedly to help him cultivate his character and learn from the Xu family's gentle, teacher son. Pei Chen is unhappy, but there's not much he can do. With a broken leg, he can't exactly run away. On the day they meet, Young Master Pei waits four hours at the station in his wheelchair before Xu Zhishan finally arrives, late. Pei Chen: Hah, trying to put me in my place? Xu Zhishan smiles. "Of course not. You're imagining things." Pei Chen gets furious. "He actually mocked me!!!" After that, Pei Chen tries every trick he can think of to make Xu Zhishan's life difficult. Later, the boomerang comes back around, and Xu Zhishan puts Pei Chen through the wringer in turn. A little scene: One day, Xu Zhishan happens to overhear Pei Chen's childhood friend confessing to him. Xu Zhishan doesn't say a word. Instead, he smiles and tells the other person to come over for dinner sometime, then leads Pei Chen away. On the way home, Pei Chen thinks he has to explain himself. But before he can say a word, someone lifts him up, tosses him onto the sofa, and silences him with a kiss. Within minutes, Pei Chen's vision starts to blur. Pei Chen hates having his back to Xu Zhishan. It makes him feel unsafe. Always one to speak before he thinks, he blurts out, "Xu Zhishan, that's all you've got." Xu Zhishan's fingers tighten slightly on Pei Chen's shoulder. Leaning close to his ear, he says, "Thank you for the compliment, Young Master Pei." Much later. Xu Zhishan: "Have you given in, Young Master Pei?" Pei Chen: "...No!!!" Theme: Have the courage to face yourself and treat others sincerely.
