Riding Across the Pass, Trampling Ice and River

[Blurb] When Wulan China first met Huhelan Le, he was an unremarkable young shepherd. Convinced that Tengri had sent him to her as a gift, she eagerly went up and confessed her love. The boy turned her down. As the grassland tribes' conflicts flared up once more, Huhelan Le led his army into the Kelei tribe's territory. Clad in iron armor and full of confidence, he clasped her hand amid the thousands of soldiers, put an arm around her waist, and rode with her on the same black steed. She confessed her love again, and the boy smiled. "It's not time yet." One arrow ended the chaos; one blade decided the fate of all. Amid mountains of corpses and seas of blood, Huhelan Le presented her with patterned cloth and offered her wintergreen, right in front of all the men of the grasslands. "You are the gift Tengri sent me, Wulan China. I want to marry you. Will you marry me?" In the first half of our lives, you rode with me across the grasslands. In the years to come, I'll drink and sing by your side. Reading Guide: 1. Inspired by "The Gray Wolf and the White Deer" (Wulan China × Huhelan Le, meaning Red Wolf and Blue Deer) 2.
