Saving the World with Sherlock Holmes After Inheriting 221B

Lan Zhao Watson is a modern surgeon and an avid fan of the occult.

After an accident during an experiment, he transmigrates to a Lovecraftian version of Victorian England and happens to buy the 221B apartment, which is up for sale.

Lan Zhao's eyes light up. "A Lovecraftian world? That means I can study the occult out in the open!"

He eagerly lays out a ritual to turn his luck around and prays:

"God, please grant me a clever assistant to help me complete my occult research, establish a cult, and become a leader revered by thousands!"

With a rumble, golden light shoots from the magic circle into the sky.

Immediately afterward, a ghost comes flying out:

"Hahahaha! The heavens have finally heard me. I'm alive again!"

"I'll surpass my dad, Sherlock, and become the greatest detective in history!"

The excited young ghost floats up to Lan Zhao.

"You summoned me back? My name is Yuri Holmes, and I'm the son of the great detective Sherlock!"

Lan Zhao is silent for two seconds. "...Lan Zhao Watson."

"..."

"...Hey."

"Don't you know Watson is the one who's supposed to be Holmes's assistant? You've got that backwards!"

Though they can't stand each other, the two have no choice but to work together.

By day, Lan Zhao works as a detective's assistant alongside Yuri at the 221B Detective Agency, taking cases and earning funds.

By night, Yuri becomes Lan Zhao's occult assistant, helping him study forbidden knowledge, recruit followers, and establish a cult.

And so, a man and a ghost begin their strange life of solving cases by day and preaching by night:

--Your husband, whom you were to be buried with, has turned into an indescribable monstrosity?

Lan Zhao: "Don't worry. We'll find the mastermind, and while we're at it, arrange another ghost wedding for the two of you."

--Merchants and nobles are conspiring to hoard food and drive up prices, leaving the people on the verge of starvation?

Yuri: "Trying to play political games with a detective? Don't worry. I'll uncover every last coin you've embezzled and personally send every food speculator to the gallows!"

--An evil god is beguiling the world, a tyrant is slaughtering cities, and the kingdom has long since rotted away?

Lan Zhao and Yuri: "What are we waiting for?"

"Join my cult in an uprising, overthrow the cruel old king, and build a new world under our rule!"

As one mystery after another is solved and one disaster after another is brought to an end, the fame of the 221B Detective Agency spreads across the continent.

Everyone who once walked into the agency disappears without a trace. Some time later, a mysterious religious group has a few new followers.

Only later do people realize that the cult, which started with just two members, has grown powerful enough to rival the kingdom and even the gods!

Who is the cult leader? Unfortunately, no one knows.

For the savior never accepts worship and never shows his true face.

The only thing anyone knows is this:

The 221B Detective Agency on Baker Street can solve any mystery in the world.

And everyone who opens its door will eventually become the cult leader's most devout follower.

Tips:

1. This novel is derived from Conan Doyle's original works. Cases may be adapted or expanded from the originals, or entirely original.

2. Regarding their ancestry, both protagonists are fictional. Specifically:

- Lan Zhao is a third-generation descendant of Watson, from a family of doctors.

- Yuri is Sherlock's biological son. He died young at the age of twenty, two generations before Lan Zhao, so he is summoned as a spirit.

3. The setting is a fictional Lovecraftian version of England. The main plot involves saving the world, preaching, and becoming king, with occult, Lovecraftian mysteries and unconventional detective fiction. Please don't scrutinize it for rigorous logic.

Theme: We can go farther by supporting each other.
