I Solve Cases, Not Romance!

Younger, narcissistic, wolfdog captain (top) x cool, stoic, catlike iceberg (bottom) --Top's POV-- Mystery-case instances are appearing, and the city is plagued by unsolvable crimes. A legendary captain, Jiang Ge, is parachuted into the city's Mystery Case Bureau. He's ruthless and says little, solves cases in a flash, and inspires both respect and fear in his subordinates. Unfortunately, this handsome man's one fatal flaw is his outrageously inflated ego. On his first day, Jiang Ge runs into a cool, handsome man in the break room. The other man smiles faintly and hands him a cup of hot coffee. "Hello, I'm Qin Yan from the Forensics Department." Jiang Ge raises an eyebrow and takes it, his low voice restrained and dignified. "Jiang Ge." After that, the two keep running into each other more often than the odds of a Mystery Case instance triggering a murder. Jiang Ge (thinking with a sneer): [Ha, this trick again? Deliberately creating chances to get close to me? This guy really is up to no good!] --Bottom's POV-- After years in the field, Qin Yan has seen all kinds of bizarre murders and the dark side of human nature. He's as cold as ice and has never been moved by anyone or anything. Recently, though, he can't help feeling creeped out by the burning gaze fixed on him. Jiang Ge, the new captain of the Mystery Case Division, looks at him with scrutiny and certainty every time, along with a hint of indescribable disdain and smugness, as if Qin Yan were some obsessive stalker plotting something nefarious. Qin Yan (expressionless): Do we know each other? Until one time, during a break between stages of an instance, they find themselves in an unoccupied blind spot in the rules. Jiang Ge closes in, braces one hand against the wall, and traps Qin Yan completely in the shadows. The man is tall and imposing, looking down at him. His tone is arrogant and haughty, his words firm and certain, full of narcissistic conviction: "Qin Yan, stop wasting your time staging chance encounters to get close to me." "Playing hard to get won't work. There's no future for us. You're not my type." At this point, Qin Yan's face is a sea of question marks???? Qin Yan: "Your so-called 'chance encounters' happen on the route I take every day." Jiang Ge's expression stiffens, but he stubbornly doubles down. "Lies! You're deliberately creating chances to get close to me. What, you have a crush on me and won't admit it?" Qin Yan looks up, his cool gaze piercing Jiang Ge's childish delusions. He says mildly, "Captain Jiang, did you get your head caught in a door?" **Reader's Guide** 1. Infinite-flow + criminal investigation. Mystery-case instances intersect with crimes born of human nature. Every bizarre rule conceals human sin. The main plot is solving cases, with goofy romance on the side. 2. Younger, narcissistic wolfdog top x cool, stoic, catlike iceberg bottom. Told entirely from the top's perspective. 3. The top is an apex fighter early on: extremely narcissistic, childish and self-destructive, and constantly imagining a secret-crush scenario. Later comes major face-slapping, devoted pampering, and obsessive chasing-the-wife-to-the-crematorium drama. 4. The bottom is cold on the outside and gentle within, with deep-seated psychological trauma. Blurb posted on 2021/11/20 Theme: Younger wolfdog top x iceberg catlike bottom
