Knocking Over the Rice Bowl

Le Huai first met Lu Cun in a shop.

She worked there part-time on weekends, while Lu Cun was a new employee who had just started and didn't know how to do anything.

Lu Cun had a face that could beguile anyone, but his whole demeanor was cold and gloomy, keeping everyone at a distance. He was also viciously sharp-tongued, and managed to annoy every veteran employee so badly that none of them was willing to train him.

The strange thing was...

Lu Cun never treated anyone kindly, yet he was exceptionally patient with Le Huai and never once spoke harshly to her.

So Le Huai decided to be a good senior employee and help the new guy out, just this once.

“Lu Cun, pour the water.”

“Lu Cun, go mop the floor.”

“Lu Cun, buy me something to eat.”

Every time, Lu Cun would frown as soon as he heard her, but he still did as she said.

Everyone else was shocked. Le Huai was quite pleased.

Later, Le Huai graduated and no longer needed her part-time job.

The moment Lu Cun heard the news, his eyes turned icy, and the emotions churning inside him could no longer be contained.

He had spoiled her like she was royalty, carefully keeping his distance in case he scared her.

And then she ran off. Before leaving, she even patted his shoulder and said earnestly:

“Lu Cun, work hard. I believe in you!”

On the day Le Huai left, Lu Cun kicked over the rice bowl called work, his face dark. He finally couldn't keep up the act anymore.

Lu Cun: “Fuck, I've been working myself to the bone to win her over. Why doesn't she like me yet?!”

Le Huai: “What should I get Xiao Lu to buy me to eat today?”

#I wanted to win you over, but you made me a bowl of instant noodles?

#No questions asked, kick over the rice bowl!
