Tan Wuwu never had any particularly clear plans for her life, and after joining the TV station, she started to lie flat.
In her own words, the older she gets, the more socially anxious she becomes. It really is an accurate description of her.
Everyone at the station gradually moved on to hosting its most popular programs, and even her regular cohost tried out a new style. She was the only one standing still.
When asked if she was worried, Tan Wuwu thought it was fine. At least it was easier than having the boss call on her during a staff meeting and ask her to share her thoughts.
"The station just launched a new show. It's a good fit for you."
The boss left her with that one line, and Tan Wuwu confidently set off with a light heart.
On the very first day, the atmosphere on set scared her so badly she shrieked in a panic. Only later did she find out the show was called Close Encounters with the Spirit World.
Tan Wuwu: "..."
The show's audience also had plenty to say.
Where did they find this host? She's so unprofessional!
I bet she got in through connections. Shame on her! If she can't do the job, she should quit. Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey.
The next day, Tan Wuwu discovered she could see spirits, and fainted on the spot.
You can quit acting now. It's a shame you never went into show business.
So you get paid to host a show while lying down? What makes you think life is that easy?
Then a headless officer suddenly appeared on the livestream, and the audience started frantically flooding the comments with pleas for protection.
Maybe, just maybe, she wasn't faking it after all?
Later, the livestream audience was full of cheers, and Tan Wuwu became an overnight sensation.
I'm staying up until the sky gets light. I have to wait for my darling Wuwu!
I'm ready. Welcome to my precious daughter's extraordinary journey of reforming spirits!
Ever since Tan Wuwu gained the ability to see spirits invisible to everyone else, she received a chance to draw a card similar to a special-talent card. She could randomly obtain a quality from all kinds of vengeful spirits.
As Tan Wuwu grew bolder, she declared, "I'm not socially anxious anymore, am I? I get along just fine with vengeful spirits."
Zhong Shen: "Is that so? Then why haven't you made our relationship public yet?"
Tan Wuwu: "..."
Little Extra:
Tan Wuwu thought Zhong Shen was gorgeous, but she hadn't expected him to be so dangerously charming when he spoke, too.
"Tan Wuwu, while you're reforming vengeful spirits, would you mind helping me fulfill a wish as well? I'm afraid my resentment will end up even worse than theirs."
This is mainly a heartwarming story about getting along with spirits. If that sounds interesting, feel free to add it to your collection.
