This novel: Jiang Yiqing inherited a temple, but... the temple was in ruins and needed repairs, and it had no believers, so he needed to attract some.

With no other choice, he started livestreaming.

His livestreams were a little unusual, though: he told fortunes.

At first, everyone treated this livestream that had appeared out of nowhere as a bit of fun.

Until...

A big spender on the platform came to provoke him. Jiang Yiqing was shocked. "The serial killer from Huangshan Town twenty-six years ago is livestreaming now? And you actually came to ask me for a fortune? You've got some nerve."

That very day, the police issued an announcement and presented Jiang Yiqing with a banner of thanks.

A woman had been unable to conceive for years and, desperate, tried anything. Jiang Yiqing counted on his fingers and said, "Miss, I can only say there's nothing wrong with you. Did your husband discuss adopting a child with you? That child is his with his mistress. Run!"

Everyone: Hold on, if there's nothing wrong with her, then her husband is the one with a problem... Wow, that's a lot to take in!

The comments section changed its tune, too...

"The streamer sang his heart out yesterday. I slept like a log, and my mom almost thought I was dead..."

"Thanks for saving my life, streamer!"

"..."

Since he was working with the Underworld and thought their staff were too inefficient, Jiang Yiqing also found time to help the Underworld develop its technology.

"Holy crap, I was born with Yin-Yang Eyes, and I watched my grandma die, then immediately pull out her phone to browse nearby ghosts. She said, 'Thanks to Master Jiang, the Underworld even has a ghost social network now.' I was holding back tears, and they just dried right up. Streamer, what on earth did you do?!"

"My grandpa visited me in a dream and asked me to get Master Jiang's autograph. He said it's as good as hard currency in the Underworld..."

A big shot became Jiang Yiqing's top supporter and insisted on listening to his off-key singing every day.

Later, the big shot started looking at him differently.

Jiang Yiqing: "..."

Seriously, you can hear romance in my singing? You have some unusual tastes.

But, looking at that face... Well, I wouldn't be opposed to it!

Except he realized the big shot didn't seem to be human...

Short scene:

One day, Wen Xiuyan noticed Jiang Yiqing going out in the middle of the night instead of sleeping. Curious, he followed him and saw him arrive at the bustling Ancestral Temple.

The Ancestral Temple was lively even in the middle of the night, with a line of ghosts waiting their turn. Jiang Yiqing sat nearby with one leg crossed over the other and drawled, "One at a time, everyone. No ghost money accepted."

"Want to reincarnate sooner? Sign up with me. Work in the Underworld for a hundred years and you can get access to the VIP line."

Didn't he need a million believers? Why couldn't ghosts count as believers?

Blurb for my upcoming novel, The Cannon Fodder in a Period Novel Eats the Gossip and Changes Her Whole Family's Fate [Book Transmigration]:

Jiang Le had just gotten into college, right at the peak of human intelligence, when he accidentally transmigrated into a melodramatic period novel as a spineless cannon fodder. He was also bound to a useless Gossip System.

It was now the resource-scarce 1970s. Jiang Le looked at his family, all gaunt and at risk of dropping dead at any moment, and felt like breaking down.

Until...

When the neighbor, Auntie Zhang, came by to bully them yet again, the useless System got excited. "Host, Auntie Zhang's husband is infertile!"

Jiang Le glanced at Auntie Zhang's five sons and three daughters. "!!!"

System: "Ding! Tell Auntie Zhang's husband the truth and earn 100 Gossip Points!"

The factory director tried to use his position to steal Jiang Le's cousin's job for his own niece. The System got excited again. "Host, the factory director is colluding with the purchasing manager to make a profit! Expose him and earn 500 Gossip Points!"

A young urban sent-down volunteer who had a crush on the heroine spread rumors about Jiang Le. The System got excited again. "Host..."

Looking at the System's shop, where malted milk powder cost just five Gossip Points and a steamed bun made from refined flour cost one, Jiang Le felt like he was getting rich...

From then on, while the original novel's hero and heroine struggled to get enough to eat, Jiang Le used Gossip Points to buy White Rabbit candies and precious powdered milk, and dressed his once-gaunt family in beautiful clothes that couldn't even be found at the department store. His family grew rosy-cheeked and healthy.

The original novel's hero and heroine were caught up in their endless fights and schemes. When they finally came to their senses, they discovered that Jiang Le, the little cannon fodder they'd looked down on, had become the top student in the province!

Jiang Le didn't have time for them, though. He was still thinking about the person who had kept him reading this bizarre, worldview-shattering book.

That person, so astonishingly talented, hadn't made it through that winter in the original story. Jiang Le clenched his fists. He would never let them suffer the same fate again!

But why, the more he protected that person, the stranger their gaze at him became?

Blurb for my upcoming novel, After the Cool Beauty and the Foolish Puppy Get Engaged:

Chu Yuecheng learned from his father that he was expected to honor the engagement arranged by his grandfather. He rebelled in anger, but to no avail, and stormed out of the house.

On the way, he came across a deaf-mute person begging by the roadside. Chu Yuecheng had no wallet, and after searching all his pockets, he found only a few hundred yuan.

He was about to place the money in the beggar's chipped bowl, his face full of apology, when a long, elegant hand offered a twenty-yuan bill. A voice as pleasant as jade striking jade accompanied it. "Hello, should I put the money in the bowl?"

Chu Yuecheng nodded without thinking. The beggar... the deaf-mute person nodded along with him.

Chu Yuecheng stood there, completely dumbfounded. By the time he came to his senses, that hand had taken the money back. He turned at once and saw a cool, handsome young man lower his eyes and slip the bill into his bag.

Chu Yuecheng stood there in a daze, his face slowly turning red.

Ever since meeting Qi Muyi, Chu Yuecheng had been shamelessly following him around every day while firmly telling his father that he would never accept this feudal arranged marriage.

At last, Chu's father gave in and said he could call off the engagement, but Chu Yuecheng had to tell the other party himself and apologize.

Chu Yuecheng agreed. As long as he could end the engagement, he was willing to do anything.

He arrived at their meeting place in high spirits, only to see Qi Muyi there. The other's cool face was as expressionless as ever. "I already know. It was only a verbal agreement, so there's no need to take it seriously."

Chu Yuecheng: "..." Was it too late to change his mind?

After they married, Chu Yuecheng kept letting his sympathy get the better of him and was frequently tricked out of his money. Qi Muyi took all his money to look after it, giving him just five hundred yuan a month.

Five hundred yuan wasn't even enough to cover one meal for Young Master Chu.

But he didn't dare say a word...

His friends offered him advice. "Want more spending money? Easy. Threaten to divorce him..."

Before they could finish, Chu Yuecheng flew into a rage. "What do you mean, divorce?! My wife is wonderful. Why would I divorce him? Are you jealous I have such a good spouse and trying to take advantage of the situation?!"

His friends: "..."

"Come on, it's just a threat. Make him realize he could lose you. Don't you want him to love you more?"

Chu Yuecheng shamefully found himself tempted by that last sentence.

However, things didn't go quite as he'd imagined...

Qi Muyi: "Divorce? Sure. Should your lawyer draw up the agreement, or should I?"

Qi Muyi's beautiful fingers quickly typed a few lines on the keyboard. "I'll do it. It'll be quick."

Chu Yuecheng burst into tears on the spot.

That night, Chu Yuecheng looked at the person beneath him. "You really want to divorce me? Tell me, do you love me or not?"

Qi Muyi gripped the bedsheets beneath him tightly. A faint blush spread across his cool face. He gritted his teeth, trying to suppress the sound about to escape his throat, and snapped in embarrassment, "Shut... up!"
