Coming soon: The Empress's Record of Favor. Please add it to your collection~
Synopsis:
Xue Dongmei has a childhood sweetheart. They grew up together with their bottoms bare, and since their parents were close, they arranged a betrothal for them, planning for them to marry once the girl came of age.
But before she could grow up, her childhood sweetheart's father passed the county-level civil service exam, then went on to place third in the palace examination and become an official.
Her childhood sweetheart went with his father when the court sent him elsewhere, and the two gradually lost touch.
After her parents are falsely accused and die, Xue Dongmei sets out alone for the provincial capital to seek justice.
Unexpectedly, she runs into her childhood sweetheart's family, who have just been transferred back.
Her childhood sweetheart's mother says that if Dongmei becomes her daughter-in-law, they'll help clear her parents' names and avenge them.
By then, Dongmei already knows her childhood sweetheart has fallen for someone else.
Looking at her childhood sweetheart's cold expression, Dongmei agrees to marry him.
Then, in private, she makes an agreement with him: once her parents' case is overturned, he can divorce her, and she'll leave the provincial capital and never return.
Her childhood sweetheart looks at her without saying a word.
After her parents are finally cleared of blame, Dongmei sees that her childhood sweetheart has made no move, so she takes the initiative and writes a divorce agreement.
But before she can finish, it gets thrown into the wastepaper basket.
Blushing, her childhood sweetheart gathers his courage and confesses: "You saved me when we were children. I promised to repay you by marrying you."
Xue Dongmei: "When did you promise that? I don't remember."
Childhood sweetheart: "I, I promised it in my heart."
A few spoilers:
1. Dongmei has always been the one her childhood sweetheart loves.
2. No one is reborn or transmigrates. A sweet little story.
3. No mother-in-law and daughter-in-law problems, no gossip from aunts and uncles, no messy weak cousin issues. Her childhood sweetheart's family gets along very well.
Coming Soon:
[Empress's Version]
The Great Qi Empress monopolizes the emperor's favor, yet has not conceived in three years. They say she's been trying to seduce the emperor again lately, hoping to cancel this year's selection of palace consorts.
The news spreads throughout Great Qi like the wind.
The high palace walls keep the rumors from reaching the palace.
The empress, deep inside the palace, knows nothing about it.
She's been worried lately: in the three years she's been empress, the emperor has never shared her bed when he visits. Now she hears the emperor has refused to select any consorts again. Could it really be as she suspects, that the emperor is impotent?
This can't go on. It seems she'll really have to test him tonight.
[Emperor's Version]
Qi Wei has loved a girl since he was young.
Loved her very much.
So when he ascended the throne, he made her empress.
But her family taught the young woman too well. All she wants is to be a virtuous empress, manage his harem, bear heirs for the imperial family, and set an example for women everywhere!
She doesn't love him at all!
She only cares about the empty title of "empress" that will let her be remembered for all time and praised for generations!
In a fit of anger, Qi Wei grabbed his little quilt and began sleeping separately from her.
And so they slept apart for three years.
Until one day, the empress, who had never once taken the initiative, sent word that she had cooked a table full of delicious dishes herself and wanted to invite him to dinner.
That afternoon, he had just heard the father-in-law bring up the question of heirs. Qi Wei was sure the empress was doing this for that reason.
Maybe tonight would finally be their wedding night, three years late.
Qi Wei was secretly delighted. After burning incense and bathing, he made his way leisurely to the empress's palace.
A serious, proper exterior | a lively, irreverent heart: the young emperor
Gentle, dignified, and sensible on the surface | actually sweet and adorable: the young empress
* Mutual pining
* A short, sweet, silly romance
Theme: Rich or poor, as long as there's sincerity, you'll find sincere love
To be honest, reading this book made me feel stuffy and boring. From the beginning to the end, the heroine is looking for trouble. She has no basis for finding a love rival for herself, relying entirely on imagination. I wasted hundreds of gold coins
It was a pity that Chiang and Sun were not together in the end, but it was Chiang himself who had the blame.
The hero just hid the heroine's letter to his friend? Do you plan to intercept their messages in the future? Have you passed it?
"I was taken advantage of by the unscrupulous brother" is a big bug for the author~
Originally, I read in the comment section that it was not good for the male protagonist to withhold letters. I thought it was for some serious reason. If it was just for selfish reasons, then the character of this gentleman is a bit broken. Let's see how it is dealt with later.
It should be "You are different from me", you are different to me. Why are you different from me?
Love makes people worry about gains and losses, especially when the conditions are much different from the other person, they must have low self-esteem. I understand Dongmei~
Wow, who took Dongmei away?
Come on, it's very beautiful and warm. I support BE. A girl as good as Jin Jin deserves better! Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on!
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on!
