Xiangru (ru): "Ru was originally written as rou" (Compendium of Materia Medica). It was named for its fragrant scent and soft leaves.

Ling Ru and Lu Zhou were childhood friends. Before he turned fifteen, Lu Zhou was arrogant, brash, and untouchable, yet he liked sticking close to Ling Ru. He chased away anyone who bullied her and always protected her.

When he was fourteen, Lu Zhou followed Duke Jingguo to guard the border, leaving Ling Ru alone in the capital to endure constant bullying.

When he returned to the capital at eighteen, the young hero caught the attention of even more noblewomen.
