Mu Liu Daozi was a child from the Flower-Planting Nation whom her mother brought back to Neon. She wondered whether the tricks she had learned from her father, which her mother called "swindling and cheating," would work on the ghosts in Neon.
After sealing yet another Grade One curse with Daoist spells and talismans, Mu Liu Daozi decided they probably did. So she recited a Buddhist prayer in the language of the Flower-Planting Nation. Her father had told her not to worry about details like that, since they weren't exactly devout believers anyway...
Then a passing Window saw her.
She had no idea how they negotiated it, but her Neonese mother, who had always despised her father's line of work, tearfully sent her to a certain technical college, a religious school (?)
There she met a delinquent white-haired guy who mistook her for a fellow man, and a certain classmate with a man-bun who looked perfectly suited to religion and had the air of a devoted mom.
Looking utterly dejected, Mu Liu Daozi pulled out a custom menthol cigarette. After calming down, she went to hang out with her doctor classmate.
White Hair: ...?! It's your face that's the problem!!!
Man-Bun: ...?? A devoted mom!?
Shoko: Let's smoke together (not really).
The heroine has an androgynous beauty, and actually looks a little religious too (not really). Her techniques are connected to the Dao, and she has a go-with-the-flow personality, a little like Geto.
As for the male lead, we'll see how the story goes. Personally, I'm leaning toward the Curse King.
Theme: Young people deserve to enjoy their youth.
