Shao Chuan had thought that if he followed the plot, Wei Lai would become an Imperial general, and he would become his wife, the general's wife revered by all.
But he never expected that when the day came, Wei Lai would be unaffected by his pheromones, and Jiang Xingzhou, who was supposed to die for him, would be standing at Wei Lai's side.
Furious and bent on revenge, Shao Chuan appeared before them during his heat, hoping to watch them go mad over his pheromones.
But Wei Lai merely pulled the visibly shaken Jiang Xingzhou into his arms, his expression cold. "You have one choice: kill him, or watch me kill him."
Jiang Xingzhou took a deep breath of his pheromones and smiled where the other man couldn't see. Calmly, he said, "Either way is fine."
