After I Switched Partners, He Went Crazy [Showbiz]

Qing Shusang was with Qin Siyan for three years, spending all that time as his secret lover. Only later did he learn that the affair really was secret, and that he really was a substitute. For those three years, because Qin Siyan didn’t want him out in public, Qing Shusang gave up his career without hesitation and obediently stayed home to keep him company, more docile than a dog. Who could have guessed that Qin Siyan only saw him as a stand-in for the unattainable love of his life? His beloved was sacred and untouchable, so he’d found a substitute to keep instead. One who didn’t even want his money, and was warm and obedient. No wonder whenever they were about to get intimate, Qin Siyan would say, “Behave yourself. He’d never be as shameless as you.” Qing Shusang had thought it was part of the fun. He never realized he was the biggest joke of all. The day his beloved returned, Qing Shusang laughed bitterly to himself, called himself an idiot and told himself to wake up, then quietly moved out of the luxurious villa Qin Siyan had prepared for him. Qin Siyan returned from welcoming his beloved home. The moment he opened the door, he knew something was wrong. The house seemed empty. The butler said, “Young master, before Young Master Qing left, he asked me to tell you that the two of you… have broken up.” At that, Qin Siyan laughed coldly as if he’d heard a joke. “He thinks he can break up with me?” Then he added, “He was the one who went to such lengths to cling to me. He’ll regret leaving. Just wait. He’ll come crawling back like a stray dog.” He waited, and saw a familiar face return to the public eye on television: Qing Shusang. He waited, and saw Qing Shusang, the pampered but little-known youngest son of the Qing family in City A, attend a banquet. He waited, and saw the internet buzzing with intimate photos of Qing Shusang and the Jiang family heir. But he never saw Qing Shusang set foot in Qin Siyan’s world again. Qin Siyan clutched a stack of photos, each one showing Qing Shusang smiling and laughing with someone else. He was on the verge of losing his mind. [Reading Guide]: * The top changes. The title says it all: the scumbag can’t win him back, not even if he dies trying. * This is a self-indulgent story written to lift my spirits. I just want something satisfying, not a miserable slog, so don’t overanalyze it. * The bottom hasn’t slept with anyone. This isn’t about forcing him to remain chaste for the proper top; the scumbag is the one with the problem. * The proper top belongs to the bottom, body and soul. * It’s a short, sweet story. Really. * The protagonist’s name is Qing Shusang. It’s clearly a Chinese name, not Japanese just because it contains “Sang.” He has that name because his mother hopes he’ll always be happy and able to forgive the things that might bring him down in life. But the character for “downcast” clearly can’t be used as a name, so she chose a homophone instead. If you think it sounds like an anime name or something Japanese, please stop saying so in the comments. I don’t like it. Truly, thank you. (Emphasis added.) * This is just a novel, so please don’t project real life onto it! (I didn’t think I’d have to emphasize this again after writing this book.) I write mutual love, not unequal relationships. I do have a free story in my collection about unequal love, where the top gets what he deserves and dies in the end, so I think some of you sweethearts should understand what I mean, right? If you’re still tempted to project real life onto it, please don’t say so in the comments. I never project real life into my writing, so surely you sweethearts who read novels won’t project it into them either, right? * Thanks to all the sweethearts who support the official release. Readers who buy the official version will get rich. * I’m always jealous of other authors’ bookmarks and comments. You get it, right? (Starry-eyed.) [My completed story *What If a Beta Can’t Be Marked?* is ready to read~] Theme: It’s never too late to turn back. Keep striving.
