A Riot of Red [Entertainment Industry]

[New Novel: How Many Steps Does It Take for a Wild Daji to Rise to the Top? [Entertainment Industry] Updating~] Blurb: Some people seem like celebrities handed every opportunity on a silver platter, but are actually interns working two jobs. Yan Sui landed an internship during graduation season. After emergency training at his internship placement, the Information Management Bureau, he was assigned to various major project teams despite having only twenty years of TV-watching experience. He learned to act while writing investigative reports, kicking off his straightforward career as a “resource-backed star” and rising to fame in a chaotic blaze! First year as an intern: Yan Sui played two third-billed male roles, with great scripts, production values, and characterizations. After a Teddy-bear-obsessed male idol got the full treatment of being blacklisted and silenced, Yan Sui was practically made to look like a rising star by comparison. Second year as an intern: The bureau offered a spot in an advanced training program, and Yan Sui saw a chance to become a full-time employee! When he left, the pressured young male stars in the industry all breathed a sigh of relief. But the trainees couldn't smile: a renowned professor whose professional ethics and private morals had both crashed and burned was caught in a procuring scandal, and every old stain came to light... After finally cleaning up the mess, how on earth did Yan Sui end up coming back? First year as a full-time employee: The bureau launched a comprehensive care program for its new colleague: Doing assignments alone must get lonely. How about finding you a partner? But Yan Sui confidently mistook someone else for his partner: “Zhong Qing, is your name also a stage name?” “Do you like it?” “It's lovely...” A veteran really is a veteran. He's mastered every trick in the working world! Advance preview: Just before washed-up celebrity Cheng Songning was about to retire from the industry, a renowned director picked him and launched a campaign to make him a star. After years in the business, he finally learned what it felt like to be a celebrity showered with roles and opportunities. He showed up late and left early, phoned in his performances, and was lackadaisical on set. Even when he was photographed with a hickey, he didn't have to explain himself to the public. The “Daji of Chinese showbiz” basked in favoritism and did as he pleased, inspiring mixed reactions, yet no one could compete with his popularity. His fans both loved and hated him, always saying, “Separate the actor from the role.” His haters were helpless. He wouldn't respond, no matter how many times they cursed him. Later, after Cheng Songning had made enough money, he wanted to slack off and run away. But the renowned director refused to let him go, and even went so far as to expose their relationship in a fit of madness... * Yan Siming proved with three films that an “award-winning actor” could be made. But only Cheng Songning had the luck to catch a famous director's eye at first sight. A nobody with nowhere else to turn, who had nearly quit the industry, was propelled to fame by Yan Siming's resources. It would be a lie to say he wasn't grateful. From then on, Cheng Songning would never have roles stolen out from under him again, or spend a freezing winter shooting in the water only for his scenes to end up on the cutting-room floor. If he wanted to act in something, Yan Siming would greenlight it and assemble the crew. Top variety shows and premium brand deals were his for the taking. He could easily spend the rest of his life in the entertainment industry under Yan Siming's protection... But Cheng Songning was just too curious! For five years, he couldn't find out who his high-spec replacement was. Even on the night Yan Siming posted a confession on Weibo, he was still curious “Can you tell me whose substitute I am, exactly? “Stop reading substitute stories.” “Then am I your half-brother?” “Don't read pseudo-incest stories either.” “Then what kind of story is this?” “Why can't it just be a sweet romance?” “You couldn't write that kind of script if you tried!” Yan Siming, reborn: Actually, I could. Theme: Freedom and love must never be betrayed
