[Crematorium, the heroine is reborn from the start, and the hero learns about her past life. The core idea behind this trope was: I'm done pretending, pleasing men, and pandering to them. Readers who can't accept that shouldn't read this.]
[The blurb for my upcoming historical novel, Winning Over the Imperial Preceptor, appears after this one: a cold, ascetic Imperial Preceptor vs. a sweet, adorable little princess. If you're interested, visit my author page and add it to your favorites~]
Blurb:
People say the emperor likes gentle, considerate women who are good at anticipating his needs. He likes soft, fragrant beauties who are too delicate to care for themselves, so the entire harem, as well as the women selected in several rounds of the imperial consort selection, are all like that.
Lan Shu learned to be that kind of woman from the age of sixteen to twenty-six.
From an obscure palace candidate to Consort Zhao, whose favor outshone that of everyone else in the six palaces, she thought she had captured the emperor's heart and could now live out her days in peace with her son.
She never expected to be framed one day, only to find that the man who had once whispered tender words to her at her bedside refused to trust her even a little.
After his sharp reprimands, she was placed under house arrest, with no idea when it would end.
The palace where people once lined up at the gates just to curry favor with her became a cold palace. When her heart was filled with despair, she returned to the year she was twenty-two.
The emperor was still fascinated by her, and she was still Consort Zhao, showered with endless favor, but she had no intention of repeating her mistakes.
Whoever wants to be a gentle, considerate woman can do it.
Whoever wants to serve that damned emperor can do it.
Lan Shu was done.
Pei Jingxing ascended the throne as a boy and faced hardship at every turn. Lan Shu's father and brothers supported him, cutting down the obstacles in his path.
He also raised Lan Shu to the rank of consort, even though she had believed the rumors outside the palace and kept trying to be the kind of woman he liked least.
He had thought he and Lan Shu would spend their whole lives putting on an affectionate act, but he never expected her to suddenly quit.
She used to visit him every few days. Now she dared refuse to see him even when he came to her door.
She used to stay by his side during the autumn hunt and wait on him tenderly. Now she only cared about riding and hunting, without even glancing at him.
She used to bring the First Prince to see him every day. Now she was reluctant to let him so much as look at his son.
Pei Jingxing regretted it.
He began visiting the harem constantly. When he couldn't get Lan Shu to come, he went to her himself. If she turned him away, he came back again and again.
Later, Pei Jingxing stuck his foot in the door just as it was about to close. Looking at Lan Shu's furious phoenix eyes, he smiled ingratiatingly.
"Little Lan Shu, what kind of man do you like? I can learn to be that kind of man too."
Reading Notes:
The male lead has had sex with women before, while the female lead has not.
The emperor has consorts, and there may be some light palace intrigue early on. Once he realizes what he's lost, the male lead will devote himself exclusively to the female lead.
The light palace intrigue will most likely involve a few people competing for resources. The rest are all good sisters. (I labeled it light palace intrigue because I'm not great at writing it.)
Lots of author-invented details, the setting is very loosely based on history and doesn't correspond to any particular dynasty, so don't overanalyze it. There is no outline, and it may get melodramatic.

Upcoming historical novel, Winning Over the Imperial Preceptor:
A beautiful Imperial Preceptor with a cold disposition has come to the palace. Aside from discussing the Dao with the emperor, he hardly ever leaves his rooms.
When the little princess Wen Shuning heard about him, she secretly went to take a look.
After returning, she lost her appetite and could think only of that breathtaking glimpse.
Fortunately, the little princess is the sort who takes action.
After just a few days of pining, she began visiting the Imperial Preceptor frequently.
She brought him pastries.
She brought him hairpins.
She brought him scented sachets.
Whenever the little princess thought of something, she brought it to him.
But every single gift was returned to her untouched by the Imperial Preceptor.
The Imperial Preceptor said that those who cultivate the Dao do not concern themselves with romantic love.
The little princess left in disappointment and gave up from then on.
But after she left, the Imperial Preceptor felt... as if the whole world had become empty.

Jiang Hengsheng was exceptionally gifted from a young age. He spent many years cultivating the Dao under his master, always holding fast to his principles without wavering.
Who could have known that after he became Imperial Preceptor, a lively little beauty would appear at his side, someone he found impossible to ignore?
Countless times, he recited the Clear Heart Mantra, trying not to think about that sweet, carefree figure.
Yet he still met her again and again in his dreams.
At first, Jiang Hengsheng refused her with a cold face.
Later, he gradually began to waver.
The moment he instinctively pulled her into his arms in a dream, he understood that he had probably fallen for her.

The Princess's Residence.
Wen Shuning lounged in Jiang Hengsheng's arms, rubbing her slightly rounded belly. She gave his hair a gentle tug and asked, "Where are my pastries, hairpins, and scented sachets?"
Jiang Hengsheng kissed the top of her head and coaxed, "I'll make them for you myself. Double the amount."

Theme: Be your true self.
After reading so many novels, I summed it up: The most humble thing that comes to your door is that girls should love themselves well.
Reading the text, I feel that the female protagonist is still with the male protagonist after her rebirth. Only the female protagonist knows the hardships she endured in her previous life. It's quite sad. You're a bitch.
I even doubt whether this emperor is his biological child. The Queen Mother is really disgusting. Refer to Yongzheng and De Fei, and the old lady Chen is also amazing. She went into the palace and asked why Chen was not chosen. She has such a big face.
I want to see the perspective of the male protagonist in his previous life
It means that the heroine cannot leave the palace in the future, and she will never be able to leave this doggy man because of her status, right? And then just choose to forgive among SB's ridiculous "make up for" and "admit mistakes"? Or is it that she is not as angry as I thought at all, and she is just losing her temper now? Can the author give me an accurate answer? I feel like I am going to explode after reading these chapters. Why is this a "pampered young lady"? I only see a "domestic cat" that is tamed and refuses to resist and dare not scratch its "master". I am so frustrated.
This Queen Mother... I originally thought she was a Concubine De, but I didn't expect her to be a fool who can't even compare to Concubine De. How did such a person become the Queen? Is it based on family background?
I don't understand a bit. There is a world of difference in status and power between Chen and the male and female protagonists. The male protagonist is still an emperor. In an era when imperial power is supreme, isn't it very easy to get Chen?
I feel that Shaohua is so pitiful and his temper has changed. Why don't you comfort him?
Hey, if we change it to modern times, the husband knows that the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is not getting along, but still can't resolve it, so he can only fight with her, the mother-in-law doesn't know what serious illness she has, and the daughter-in-law is forced to stay at home as a full-time housewife.
Ah, I don't understand this. The male protagonist actually thinks that the female protagonist is reborn? So smart. . . ? Would there really be an emperor in ancient times with such a leap of thinking? . .
